The Gateway Conference Centre has successfully operated since 2002 as a not for profit organisation supporting local groups which help disabled and disadvantaged people.

We are a high quality city centre venue offering professional standards in customer service and excellent facilities in a fully accessible sustainable environment.

We specialize in commercial organisations and the services they require rather than social or family events, so you won’t bump into a 21st birthday party here.

We also provide a video-​conferencing service and are open 247 to help provide the aility to connect professionally with clients all over the world.

Since opening, we’ve given in-​kind support of more than £500,000 to local charities to enable them to provide affordable services to their client groups.

In 2012, we’ll expand our services to double the largest conference suite up to a capacity of 125, yet still be able to provide the personal touch which keeps organisations returning again and again.

History

Established in 2002.

The Gateway Conference Centre is a part of the Gateway Centre, which operates from 2 floors of a modern building located on the edge of the City Cultural quarter and just 5 minutes’ walk from Lime Street Train Station.

Initially, the organisation was established thanks to a capital grant from The DfEE UK Online Centre programme and revenue supported for the first 3 years by the National Lottery New Opportunities Fund. This allowed us to buy a long lease to operate the business and equip us with modern faciliities to build-​up the conference product and service the requirements of our office customers.

I’ve been managing The Gateway Centre since before we opened in 2002 and it has been the most fulfilling and rewarding job I’ve ever done. It is hugely varied as well which means every day is different with more organisations finding us and using us than ever before.

We give fantastic service and excellent value for money for our clients which is why they return again and again.

Many clients ask if we’ve got a branch elsewhere because they like what they get from us and wish it was available in other locations in the UK. We are in fact a complete one-​off.

My team are the reason we’re so well liked and as we’ve all been involved for the last 9 years, we’ve got The Gateway under our skin and know our business and our customers inside out.
