This particular branch of Scope is well worth visiting because here you find quite an array of high end fashion labels at reasonable prices, particularly in the women’s section. As far as charity shops go, I would say the quality of the items here is above average, and as such the prices might also be a little higher – but it’s still a lot less than you’ll pay in the high street shops for items that are(honestly) only a little bit newer … This Scope is definitely more geared toward fashion shoppers. There is a small selection of knick-knacks and a few books if i remember correctly, but it’s mostly clothing.

Charity shops seems to be staging a come back recently, maybe people are feeling more generous, maybe they’re just skint and want a bargain but more and more a cropping up. There still remain just a handful in the city centre, but Scope survived the drought, it held fast together with Oxfam and to this day stands proudly on Lord Street. Quite a distance from the small collection of charity shops near Central Station, Scope demands a deliberate detour(or an earlier train stop) and, for this reason, the stock tends to be variable. You can either pick up great things that people can’t be bothered walking out to get, or, the stock is poor due to fewer donations. It is definitely worth a look though.

Hey guys you should totally come and scope this place out — they, like, sell stuff other people don’t want and it’s, like, totally cheaper than buying the junk new. And, like, the money — get this — goes to help people with disabilities so, like, it’s all in a good cause. Come on guys — this place is rad. So stoked I, like, scoped it out. Seriously guys — there’s like board games here, board games are awesome — remember that one board game. No dude, you will remember it. It was, like, about life and junk. I think it was called, like, the Game of Life. Well, guess what — they totally had that here and it was all, like, under £4 an junk. And books — they got some classics here, man. No, not like The Little Engine Who Could, like actual classics — Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Return of the Native, Far from the Madding Crowd. Hardy was a stone cold prince, dude. They even got wedding dresses here, man. No joke. Serious; scope this. You could, like, plan a whole wedding from all the gnarly stuff in this store. Is your mom still single? Jeez dude, lighten up — it was, like, totally a joke. But seriously dude — is she?
