This is a fabulous little independent knitting, craft, and fabric shop. It’s so lovely in here that I wanted to stay all afternoon and chat with the owner although I’m sure she probably got a bit annoyed with my nervous banter after a while.(I only talk a lot when I’m nervous. Normally I’m a very shy mouse.) They sell, as the name suggests, a lot of knitting related items including yarn(wool), knitting needles, stitch markers, knitting patterns, and more. There’s even a cute little display of knitted cakes on a cake stand. So cute! :) You will also find bolts of cute fabric, colourful buttons, beads, ribbons, and sundry other artsy/crafty type materials. The shop may seem small but there is indeed quite a lot packed in here. I’ll definitely be coming back. :)

This is a lovely little haberdashery store. The staff here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Amongst the goodies on sale there is wool, yarn, buttons, jewellery beads, crochet kits, knitting patterns, bags, cushions, fabric and scarves. Everything is arranged neatly and the shop is a joy to browse around. This is a great little shop for when you’re feeling a bit crafty :)

Oooh haberdashery. After investing in a new sewing machine these are the places I like to inhabit. And Purlesque is no exception, with a broad range of sewing accoutrements, different sizes of knitting needles, buttons and much more. If you’re just starting out then this place also sells handy books teaching you patterns and how to stitch things(or you could just YouTube it but that isn’t the same really, is it?) The staff are friendly and knowledgable on their stock and the latest emerging trends in the knitting and crochet world. They also have kitsch hand-made homeware and other unique goodies in here. A great place to know about.

A must for emerging and established knitters, Purlesque is a gorgeous boutique that sells beautiful wool, yarn, buttons and crochet books. If you haven’t got the patience or fingertips to stitch yourself, they also sell adorable hand-made bags, accessories and homeware. I love the mix of DIY jewellery, tote-bags, scarves and cushions but it’s the knitted cupcakes and tea-cosies that I have my eye on. You bring the jam and scones, I’ll get the kettle on…
