History

Established in 2009.

Neil rice and Helen frost opened the doors of posh in may 2009. Neil’s very good friend Herbert of Liverpool kindly did the honours officially opening the salon.

Neil started hairdressing back in 1989 and served his training with Ian Carmichael at steiners bond st. Who currently is HRH the queens hairdresser.

Neil worked behind the scenes of the 1990s show «blind date» and styled hair for the 3rd blind date wedding Lillian and david.

Walking along Aigburth Road, you’re instantly struck by the change in shopfront scenery as you encounter Posh for the very first time. It’s like a movie set or maybe like you’d imagine Elton John’s toilet to look like!
It’s got a crazy yet elegant interior with lots of gold and leopard print designs, as well as lots of thrones for clients to sit on while they read the latest issue of Hello magazine and wait for their foils to finally dry!
They have a range of services on offer including haircuts, perms, colours, highlights, trims and various skincare and tanning advice and products. Their prices are quite middle of the road in terms of salons and stylists in the area. Although I’ve never had my haircut here, the customers and staff are always laughing and joking as you walk past and it seems to have a really friendly vibe to the place!

The first thing you notice about Posh is the wonderfully garish interior and exterior. It is decorated with browns, animal prints plasma screens and gold, and actually makes you want to take a look inside.
Once inside the staff are friendly and are eager to get to know you. They provide a very personal and professional service with an awesome camp vibe.
The prices are reasonable and I have never had a bad hair cut there. Usually when I leave I find myself smiling away and slightly exhausted from the banter inside. This is definitely not the place for the shy and retiring.

Wow. Well, Posh by name, leopard print chairs and ornate décor by nature it seems!
Quite possibly one of the most tongue-​in-​cheek salons I’ve ever encountered in my life, Posh is like the heaven Bet Lynch or Liz McDonald (what is it about Coronation Street characters and… unusual fashion sense) would wake up to had they died and been forgiven of all their sins. It’s simply paradise for anyone remotely enamoured with the 1980s, or leopard print, or big sparkly chandeliers, or anything kitschy cool.
Yes, the stylists are very good, and the prices are reasonable, nails, tanning, yada-​yada, and there we go, that’s the review essentials over with. You’re coming for the experience, the banter, and the sheer incredible sight of all the gold and sparkles and animal print and madness. Seriously, just peeking in is a spectacle in itself. Amazing stuff, really unique and they haven’t half tried to make it that little bit different to your average salon.
