There are, unfortunately, not enough speciality booze shops in Liverpool — and I amaware how such a statement makes me sound like a complete p**shead, but hey ho I like a good tipple! Oddbins is sadly the closest we have in my experience of such a store but luckily this outlet does have a good selection of beers, wines and spirits as well as very helpful staff — a single, in my opinion, innocent question concerning whiskey lead to a half hour discussion on the subject, not a lecture mind but still… If planning a party, or maybe an important meal — to be on Come Dine With Me would have to include a stop here! — this is defo the place to visit.

Imagine a sweet shop that only opened midnight til 6am when all the kids are tucked in bed? Well, on paper this branch of Oddbins sounds just as bonkers! An upmarket off license selling quality wine, champagne, spirits and beer, it’s closed at weekends and only open til 6pm in the week. The reason for these strange opening hours is that the store is located in the middle of Liverpool’s business district and as such, tends to cater to local office workers and businesses. Handily, they offer free delivery and glass hire for parties and corporate accounts for small to large businesses. Their champagne and sparkling wine section is pretty impressive too with prices ranging from around £10 to £300 a bottle.
