I never thought I would give a Nando’s a four star review. The chain came to real prevalence during university for me, so it suddenly became the only place anyone would consider eating. However, after a few years of resisting the apparent pull of the chicken chain, a hangover meant it was simply the best option… After a heavy Friday, my colleague and I were working in Liverpool, about five minutes from Liverpool One. We were moving chairs for a few hours before our need for food and drink became a desperate one! During our break, we decided there was only one place for it — Nando’s. Based predominantly on the fact we could have refillable drinks(resulting us in drinking our respective body weights in Fanta!) we were quickly seated in this massive restaurant by very friendly front of house and waiter. Counter service was fine and our meal was with us within about 10 minutes — enough time to get at least a few glasses of Fanta in. The middle section is packed with all the sauces, drinks and cutlery, though on this occasion the cutlery was way understocked. The food was fine and we both polished our meals off, spice definitely being my current favourite hangover cure. Butterfly chicken with spicy rice and corn, with mango & lime on the chicken and garlic sauce on the side. It was all of a good standard and was exactly what we needed. A fine experience which deserves a four star, though don’t expect me to become a Nando’s regular.

It seems, no matter what city I go to in Britain, I can never avoid at least seeing a Nando’s, they have grown so big over the past few years, this store in particular is well hidden on the 5th floor of Liverpool One. If you are looking for this store, it is quite close to the ODEON cinema, and it is well hidden compared to the likes of Pizza Express and Caffe Rouge, who all have nearby stores. The store is actually quite big, and the first thing that hit me was the loud music, luckily I sat towards the back of the large store, hence it wasn’t as bad for me.(Who goes out to eat, at a concert, Nando’s thinks people do!) Unlike, at every other branch of Nando’s I visited, they was no one to sit me at a table, so I just waltzed in, and found a table. It is the standard Nando’s menu of course, and they do accept Starbucks cards here. This store is quite nice, it is very big and even has circular booths, for large parties, but unfortunately these seemed to be all taken on my visit. The staff here seemed okay, at the«bar», I was served by a trainee so it was a little slow and not the best possible service, but for a trainee, it was a good standard, and I have actually had worse service from managers of stores in the past. Service here seemed very slow and it actually taken 25 minutes to get my food, Nando’s is a little pricy with my meal costing just over £10 for Chicken Butterfly and two portions of chips, but it is the typical chain prices and in a way, for the quality it does represent value for money. I’d say this is one of the nicer branches of Nando’s for food, my chicken and the mango and lime flavouring was quite nice, and so were my chips, however the service here is pretty slow compared to other stores, which could mean having to seat yourselves and /or having to wait considerably longer for your food, than a different branch, which is one of the main reasons for the store’s rating being lower than what I’d have liked to give. The drinks here, I find far too pricy especially for iced tea, and the best drink to get is just paying £2.50 for the glass and getting unlimited fizzy drink, but I don’t find their to be a cheaper, value for money alternative for someone, who does not like fizzy drinks. This Nando’s store is a nice store, with food that is up to a good standard, but the service is the one thing that seems to let it down along with some pricing issues, so I feel the highest I can give this store is 3 stars.

Not sure what all the hype is about. Went for lunch while shopping at Liverpool One. I had a half chicken, it was okay but not even the best peri-peri chicken that I ever had. Found it a little bland and not as juicy as some others. The chips with peri-peri seasoning were also nothing special, again chips with a light spice. The corn on the cob was dried out and the butter packet with it had already melted. Not bad food but not sure why the lines and excitement.

I ate here a long time ago probally in the summer but never been back? Is this a good thing or a bad? Well I haven’t been for ages because not found time but when I went I had the chicken burger and spicy rice with a refillable drink. I am the most fussy eater ever my toast is warm bread I hate brown or BLACK bits on food etc… What I did notice with nandos is that is a big grill now grill food normally has black brown lines on it but my big piece of chicken was golden and prefect I didn’t even have to tell them how I like my food lol it was the best chicken burger ever. The spicy rice I had was perfect to it was nice and spicy and soft and filled with taste. The only down side to this place is the WAIT but we got told 30 mins and it was only 15 mins. Summary the food is amazing child friendly not of filling portions and great atmosphere what more could you want award this restaurant 5 stars and recommend it to the chicken lovers of the world

Loves it! Now Nandos and I have been happily married for a while. The relationship however like fine wine seems to just keep getting better with time. I have come to the realization that mash potatoes served here are heavenly beyond belief. Along with the standard peri peri and a spot of chicken livers potato mash goes down a smash!!! Add to that the unique and spacious decorum which every Nandos across the country seems to have it really is another smash hit. Nandos is more than an eatery, it is a modern phenomenon. You may get sick of having too much of it, but give it a few weeks and you’ll come running back begging for more!

Nandos in Liverpool One is a treat to behold due to its space and its fantastic aesthetic value. This place is beautifully decorated and puts other branches of this chain that I have seen to shame with its potted plants and spacious dining area. The location is sensational right next to the Odeon cinema and at the heart of Liverpool One. You can fit in a trip to this Nandos as part of a packed day in the centre of one of the UK’s finest cities. The food is fantastic and good value as is the case with this chain and the staff here are attentive and very professional indeed. To summarise the location and space of this Nandos makes it special and well worth a visit for a tasty bite to eat.

The problem with this Nando’s is it’s just too darn popular. If you want to eat at lunchtime or early afternoon Monday to Friday, you should be able to get a table easily enough. If you want to eat early evening, late evening or anytime at the weekend though, forget it. Every table at this branch seems to be spoken for and there’s usually a 20 – 45 minute wait. If you manage to pull off the magical trick of actually getting a table, the atmosphere is always bustling with families, couples and groups of teenagers. As for the menu, it’s Nando’s standard but tasty fare of flavoured chicken, burgers, fries, corn, coleslaw, sweet potato mash, salads and dips. There’s an okay wine and beer list too and different cheesecakes for pudding.

Great place to eat provided you can get a table! Have been here so many times to get some lunch/dinner only to be told there’s 25+ min wait for a table then another 20+ min wait for the food. Maybe it’s has quietened down in the last few months but have decided to try the other restaurants in the area instead. The food is great, well the veggie burgers are at least and I like the way you’ll left to get your own drinks so no waiting round for that refill! Nice selection of sauces to go with your meal too.

Showing up at a restaurant with a severe hangover became a theme for me and my boyfriend’s dining-out experiences when we were first dating. Not wanting to cook but needing to satisfy our carb cravings, we’d try different places around town. I’m a closet near-foodie and tend to get a bit huffy when I eat out in the UK at «ethnic» restaurants. Plus, chains are not my ideal choice for eating out(unless all I want are jalapeño poppers), but when you’re hungover you’re just not choosy. BF and I had come here a couple of time for coffee and desserts, this being an eatery open late that wasn’t just booze oriented. Those experiences were just fine, and the food smells floating around us were always inviting. One day, after spending the night prior swimming in whiskey, Nando’s had the luck of dealing with our nauseous, yet starving tummies. Since we both boast that we have major spice cajones, we went with as spicy of chicken as we could get. To top the spicy chicken off, we also got the spicy rice, but that turned out to not really have much flavor or kick at all. Still, needing to carboload, we ate every grain of it. It was all right. The sauces were decent, but unfortunately didn’t make us sweat. Nando’s will have to come out with something much more hardcore to threaten our cajones, I’m afraid. I don’t remember the meal standing out much, but the prices were great and the food did the trick for what we were needing that night. I felt MUCH better after eating it. One of these days, I’ll give Nando’s another try when my face is a little less green.
