As a corner shop, Londis sells everything you expect and everything you need for convenience shopping: newspapers, sweets and drinks, cigarettes, household cleaning products, tinned food, loaves of bread etc etc etc. It’s cheap enough and open late so it’s pretty handy, but pretty atypical. However, this Londis is special because. from very late November to December, they sell christmas trees! Now, not many newsagents do that, do they? Whats more, their trees are gorgeous, they’re brought down from Scotland, by the owner himself I believe, and line the pavements offering that festive aroma and laying a carpet of pine needles to the door. They’ve always been very reasonably priced and my family and I have bought dozens from here, including our very first«real» tree. Londis deliver the trees and can provide trunk stands. The owner is involved with several charitable projects including a forest regeneration scheme so he can arrange for your tired old tree to be collected after christmas to be disposed of properly.
