Jones the Bootmakers is an excellent shop. It specialises in quality footwear made using traditional techniques but with modern designs. The service here is second to none. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, they really do make you feel that your custom is valued. If you just want to browse the shop then they will leave you to it, or they will give you excellent personal service and impart all the advice and knowledge you could possibly want. The footwear here is of an excellent quality. This quality obviously comes at a price, but the prices are actually not as extortionate as you might expect. The have shoes ranging from about £40 right up to the £200 mark, so there is something to suit most peoples budgets here. If you want a pair of shoes or boots that will last and wont be the same as everyone else on the high street is wearing, then this is the place for you.

Jones Bootmaker is a well respected and good quality shoemakers who often put a contemporary twist on classic designs. This place does a great job of fusing contemporary and classic and this is something which is not so easy to do. This place fuses quality and value and this is something not too evident in the modern age so it is very refreshing to see. This place is definitely at home within the plush surroundings of Liverpool One. The staff are excellent also and the whole place is well run and enjoyable to be a part of meaning that a purchase here is a happily made one.

Jones reminds me of being a little kid and going to get my shoes and being REALLY excited over those little navy blue floral strap numbers. And then there’s that time when I got my first pair of Kickers from there, that was a great day. And now I’m an adult, I lust after the boots and heels beautifully displayed in this shoe store. Jones has a reputation for being a great quality place and upon entrance it’s easy to see why. Service is impeccable and the shoes are so well-made. Of course, prices range from average to expensive, but if you want a pair that are going to last then you have to pay a bit extra these days. Staff are really helpful and knowledgable on all their brands and lines. My favourite shoe store.

Although I have always found the new Peter’s Lane development of town aesthetically pleasing I have been slow to take much notice of the stores here because it feels like anything for men has simply been shoe horned — no pun intended — in amidst more female centred shops. There are lots of handbag and shoe stores here which would not immediately appeal to me but on closer inspection some of these places do a really good job of providing quality items for men once you find the men’s clothing at the back of Reiss or realise that Jones have a good collection of male shoes. Having to attend a formal occassion recently the importance of good footwear became apparent — as a pair of pumps or worn down boots would not do — and I suddenly started to realise what women find so appealing about them! Of course they are not cheap and the average price for a decent pair of formal brogues was around £90 — £140 which next to anything in Hugo Boss or Flannels is still a bargain — then I found realised that other vital element to the female vocabulary, sale. You will find more informal/casual footwear here but like any clothing store that does not specialise in sportswear these often look like something only your dad would wear — except the Paul Smith’s — and it is really all about the smart footwear for suits and tailoring.

Jones Bootmaker is a small shoe shop nestled away in the Keys Court area of Liverpool One. You definitely won’t find a bargain here but you will find great quality footwear and famous brand names(if that’s what you’re after). For a shop of this calibre, prices are expensive across their whole range of shoes and you can expect to pay in the region of £70 for a sturdy pair of mens shoes. Staff are friendly and there to help you no matter how busy they are. I did find the place a bit crammed for comfort and the background music was a little loud, so I had to raise my voice when speaking to staff. Other than that, I can’t fault this gem of a shop.

Jones Bootmaker is situated amongst the collection of quirky fashion based shops on Peters Lane between the shopping roads tucked away in Liverpool One. It offers a large collection of quality footwear for women and men with prices that generally reflect the standards of the shoes being bought. Expect to pay around £70 to £200 for mens shoes of a wide range of different styles. Their website is a good source for pre-selecting some lines before entering the indecision of shoe shopping. The staff were very good, remaining attentive and knowledable. The particular shoes that I picked up have absorbed wear very well and I’d consider Jones a destination for any future replacements or additions.
