Don’t believe any idiots who complain about food because it’s not true, we’ve eaten three times in the mogul and it’s lovely the staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you

This used to be my go to spot for watching the match before leaving Liverpool.
Good cheap pints, all the football games, decent food and not to packed.
The Mogul feels like a good authentic British pub.
Really good meet-​up point as it is right next to Maghull Train station. Few scoops then jump the train into town.
Outside of match day the atmosphere is more family friendly and food oriented.

When I first Googled what the term ‘mogul’ actually meant, it informed me that it referred to a bump on a ski slope. Now, bearing in mind this a country pub and not a large dry ski slope or piste, something tells me their name refers to something else.
Regardless, this lovely, traditional-​looking country pub is just around the corner from Maghull train station and is perfect for a quiet pint with friends. It’s fairly quiet generally; free from kids and youngsters being all noisy and generally annoying, so it’s also the perfect place to go for a quiet pub lunch or dinner.
This is also helped by the great food on offer, as the Great Mogul does good quality pub food that is served in large portions, perfect to mop up a few pints with. The sophistication of the food isn’t particularly high but it’s very tasty, homemade cooking and easily some of the best in the local area. The service is similarly satisfying as the staff there are friendly and attentive, ensuring you have an enjoyable experience whenever you visit.

The Great Mogul is a great little oldy-​worldy type pub in Mughull. It serves tasty home style food – the kind of food you can almost taste as you step in the door because the smells wafting from the kitchen are so yummy.
The prices are decent, and it’s a really great family atmosphere. There are often families eating here and there’s a play place for children.
All in all not a bad night out or great place for a lunch out.
