As its name suggests, Fortune Marine Café is situated at the very end of South Road in Waterloo, just before the lovely marina area. What is fortunate about it, I don’t know; maybe if you were stranded at sea and you couldn’t reach the next shop along, or cross over the road to the pub without dying of thirst, then I suppose it’d be quite lucky. Other than that, I don’t really see the link. Anyway, back to business. The Fortune Marine Café offers the usual selection of café refreshments at fairly cheap prices(you can’t really charge much for a cup of tea now, can you?) The best bit about it though is they sell a good range of ice creams and ice lollies, perfect for those nice days on the front when you’re in dire need of something nice and refreshing. Think of it as a bit like an ice cream van. But not on wheels, and kind of stationary really. They don’t play any of those annoying songs like ice cream vans do, either.
