Far far away in the East! Nope this is China Town Liverpool my friend. Flagship restaurants are seldom poor, and this really does count as one of the flagship restaurants in the area having been around for donkeys! This place is dim sum heaven. Now under normal circumstances I have always said that the crowd in a restaurant is of little importance. I have always steered clear of calling restaurants pretentious and stressed the importance of food as being the only palpable measuring tool for judging a restaurant. When it comes to judging food that you are not entirely familiar with however the crowd is important. At this point you will probably be quizzing yourselves thinking, does he not know Chinese food? The simple answer is, well no!!! What’s the population of China??? Apart from my life long diet of a handful of takeaways and restaurant dishes I cannot possibly remotely claim to be a Chinese food expert. This title goes to the local Chinese community. Which incidentally fills this place, which is the point I’ve been trying to make! Yes there are a lot of options in China town and out of China town but this place is definitely up there!

As one of the earliest Liverpool Chinese restaurants, the décor isn’t exactly the most stylish, but it is one of the favourite with the Chinese community. If you’re bored of the usual Sunday lunch or pub dinner on a lazy Sunday afternoon, one of the best places to come for something to eat is Far East for some Dim Sun. It’s fabulous. However, due it’s popularity with the Chinese, it can get very busy so I’d advise getting in early. While you’re considering what delights to try out, the food is wheeled around the restaurant on a trolley. The whole fun of the place is just to eat anything and not ask what it is! Just ask for more.
