Nice modern bar, with table service. Not the cheapest, but a solid place for a quick pint.

First Impression ! Clean No clutter, friendly helpful staff. Just popped in on my way back to north wales from my mums in crosby had to give it a visist as catering has always been a major part of my life, had a very basic snack and a soft drink but thought the atmosphere was just right for a restaraunt called café sports, obviously geared for people wanting to watch the football or sport and those just wanting something plain and simple. Only disapointment was i did leave a forwarding address for jamie to forward me a piece of LFC memorbilia to raise some cash for a charity close to my heart here in North Wales. Never too late Jamie :))
Would definately visit this café sports bar again. 14th April 2011

Considering the fact that this is a Sports Café you’d expect wings, nachos, burgers, wedges, all the stuff you’d imagine munching on when you’re watching a good game. However what’s unusual about this place is that you can get proper traditional Brit main meals here. I should have noted the England in the title, huh. Guess it’s less an American Sports Bar, more a pub spliced with one. Neat! The homemade scouse takes pride of place on the menu but you can also find fish and chips, bangers and mash, cottage pie, even a chip butty or a gargantuan Yorkshire pud filled with roast beef and spuds, gravy and veg. Believe me, come here when you’re ravenous because otherwise you’ll be so packed full you’ll want to fall bobos. You can even get breakfast here if you pop in during the morning, and it’s not all fried eggs and sausages and ketchup, there’s fresh fruit salad and a super muesli packed with all sorts of goodies too, so even the health conscious can enjoy a bit of sporty action in the AM. Smoothies are available all day and are deliciously tangy and pulpy. Puddings are classics like fudge cake, carrot cake, banana split and sticky toffee pudding and come highly recommended along with their sorbets and yoghurts. The place is packed full of lots of tasteful sports memorabilia and there’s a plethora of TV screens so no one misses out on the nice sporting view which is rather excellent. Seriously, if you need a treat I’d say it’s one of the best places to watch a game and chow down on some stodge or get a smoothie and superfood fix. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I’m not even that into sports.

You can see what the proprietors where trying to achieve when café sports England was being designed. They were most likely trying to create a great venue to have a meal and watch the big game in a friendly and exciting atmosphere. However the way they went about this was to buy way too many flat screens and fill every available square inch of wall space with them. Whilst this may look impressive. It just makes watching a sporting event a confusing experience as it is extremely difficult to concentrate on any one screen! When you factor in the overpriced drinks and general emptiness of the bar it is a very disheartening place to be when watching your favourite team. Café Sport has so much potential, its just not quite there yet.

Expensive, but a great café. Jamie Carragher’s personal dish is the best dish on the menu. If you get there at the right time, you might just see him there

What I like best about Liverpool star Jamie Carragher’s business venture is the addition England to the title of this very run of the mill sports bar. I’m not sure what I am expecting from a sports bar except a good selection of screens but maybe I yearn to find somewhere that lives up to the standards set by Cheers? At Café Sports, however, nobody will know your name. It’s possible that Mr Carragher would think that a wet mid-week afternoon was not the best time for me to get a good flavour of the place but I have seen this place on a Saturday night and I’m not sure that’s a side of the establishment that I want to reflect! It’s just bland, Sky Sports News on every screen just strikes me as a bit desperate — we need sport, any sport, even hockey news! — To be fair to the place, it does what it says on the tin and I’m sure Café Sports will be a good venue for the World Cup but as somewhere I have visited outside of a notable sporting event it doesn’t really have much else to offer.

Brilliant restaurant/Bar. I booked a booth when Liverpool were playing West Ham United. The atmosphere was excellent with Tv’s everywhere. The booth was brilliant with our own TV to look at. The food was to a high standard. I recommend getting some bread for starters. It was freshly made on site and came out still steaming. Olive oil and Balsamic for dipping. SOGOOD! You do pay a little bit more then usual. I’m from London though and actually thought the prices were quite cheap. The staff were all very helpful and really smiley. They had plenty of banter and responded promptly to requests. Definitely go there when a liverpool game is on. They had half time entertainment from an impressionist. The atmosphere was wicked!

Quality location, superb food with genuine choice of healthy options. Right in the heart of Liverpool, 15 minutes from Anfield. Went there with friends from Doncaster, 3 children and we all moved it. Make the trip, the service is fantastic. More quality from Jamie Carragher!

We visited Liverpool for the weekend as my son is a mad Liverpool supporter. He was delighted by being in Jamie Carraghers’ bar, although we didn’t see him this place was really great, with enormous TVs all over the place set to Sky sports channels. It was subtly done with black ceilings and brick walls, bit open plan seating area on two levels. The staff were efficient and friendly and wore tracksuits which was good. Food was healthy and fresh, and not too expensive. Great!

Owned by Liverpool and England footballer Jamie Carragher in association with business partners, this has class stamped all over it just like Jamie. Absolutely wonderful food with healthy eating it’s lead whilst giving great choice. The restaurant is well furnished and as you would expect a multitude of plasma screens show sporting events from around the world. You can normally bump into a football star or other sporting hero although the place is not pretentious and is designed to cater for family dining. All food is prepared in an open kitchen and the restaurant can cater for 200 people over its two floors. The prices are reasonable and the business gives support to various schemes including one in which schools can benefit to the tune of £5000 worth of sports equipment. A great place to dine in a healthy manner before hitting the not so healthy night spots.
