Boodle’s is by far the most luxurious and sought after jewellery shop in the whole of Liverpool. So much so, that last year a load of thugs on bikes tried to hammer the windows in and scoot off in broad daylight! It connotes excellence and high standards and it oozes glamour and money from each of it’s window displays on the corner of the huge shopping complex that is Liverpool One! They sell a range of top name watches including Rolex and Cartier, they sell a wealth of bracelets, necklaces and rings. All of this, with very fat price tags which are probably unaffordable to most of Liverpool’s population! Worth a look if you’re looking for a wedding or an engagement ring, or if you want to shell out £1000 on watch when you can just get a Casio and spray it with gold paint!(You know they’re much more credible!)

Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous; it’s gorgeous. The shop is beautiful; the doorman is charming;the diamonds are sparkling; the jewellery is to die for, literally; I couldn’t eat for a good few years to afford some Boodleswear. Oh but it’s gorgeous, and I love to peer in(I rarely enter in case I cry with incurable and insuppresable lust) and covet things unashamedly before ushering myself to Argos for a less pricey shiny: less ‘Sparkling Diamonds’, mre ‘Diamond Dogs”

You might say that Boodles is the, ahem, jewel in the crown of Liverpool’s recent commercial facelift unless, of course, you weren’t a fan of bad puns and then you would definitely avoid saying such a thing. Predating the Liverpool One complex by five years the 2003 refurbishment of the city’s favourite jewellers made the whole thing look sleek and snazzy, all polished grey stone and plate glass — a look which the new indoors-outdoors shopping centre seems to emulate. Flying a Vivienne Westwood style pastel-hued union jack above its entrance, Boodles is a smart looking keepsake box for the treasures within. Stocking a range of expensive(just as an illustration they have a section on their website headed ‘Under £3,500′) but breathtaking pendants, bracelets and Patek Phillipe watches as well as, most importantly, custom made diamond rings. If you are thinking of picking out an engagement ring in Liverpool, this is should be your first stop. Even if you’re not quite ready to take that particular plunge yet the staff are welcoming and happy to discuss with you what might be best purchase for yourself or loved one. You might say this was a local treasure. Oh right, you didn’t like the bad puns.

This is the oldest jewellers in Liverpool and they are really at the premium end of the market as witnessed by the liveried doormen(security). Catering to Liverpool’s old money(and of course new money of which Liverpool has plenty!) Boodles is the benchmark in high-end jewellery retailing. With a very smart new store on London’s Old Bond Street they could become an international brand. Not being rich enough to shop here I have looked through the window in envy(I have also been to events here and the staff are super friendly). Most of their products are actually designed in Liverpool which is both unusual but also really cool. Get saving!
