We recently held my daughters christening here and I couldn’t recommend it enough. We wanted something casual rather than hiring a hall as we were expecting around 40 guests. We were at the back of the restaurant so we had an area to ourselves and plenty of seating which was great because more turned up than expecting. The food was perfect. We went for the party buffet which for the price(£6.99 a head) the quality of the food was amazing, especially when comparing to other establishments we had looked at before, which for the same price you’d just get some sandwiches and coleslaw. It was all fresh and very tasty! Also being a hungry horse the drinks were a very reasonable price, and we were able to stay much later than I thought we would. The staff were all extremely helpful, helping with organising the food and the cake and making sure we had everything we needed. To sum up, it was the perfect venue for what we needed and we will definitely be returning for dinner soon.

Have eaten in the Blue Anchor a few times and the first few times before the fire bombs we deemed the place okhowever the last time we went the food was awfula rushed, stale mess even the people on the next table sent their roast dinners back cos the beef was tough as old bootswhat has happened? we work hard for our pennies and really dont expect a shoddy service or poor quality food that quite frankly you would not give to your dog. sort it out!

The Blue Anchor is a well established and popular pub located on School Lane in the Aintree district of Liverpool. Not far from Aintree Racecourse. It has the main bar at the front with a large extended restaurant to the rear serving a good range of food. They have regular promotions and the prices are reasonable, drinks are a little more expensive. Its a good clean, comfortable family friendly pub with a play area /beer garden at the back. They serve a very good value Sunday roast but it does get quite busy and on a few occasions have sold out of many things.
