Does what it says on the tin! Bargain booze genuinely offers some great deals on alcohol, particularly in such an expensive time in light of planned tax increase on cheap drinks. Their beer is certianly a recommendable price, occasionally featuring stock close to its sell by date at a completely knocked down price, the only drawback is the inevitable distance uphill to walk it back! The spirits in bargain booze are also of considerable interest but obviously fluctuate around what stock they can get in.

Conveniently located opposite the bombed out Church of St Luke, this branch of Bargain Booze seems to be a big hit with the old boys and gals that spend most days drinking and hanging around the church grounds. As you’d expect they stock a big volume of bargain beer, ale and cider. The jackpot for their regulars however, seems to be their extensive range of spirits in 1 litre, 70cl and minitature bottles. Some of these are priced reasonably, others like Bombay Sapphire gin and Sailor Jerry rum seem marked as steep as in quality off licenses like Oddbins. Strangely, Bargain Booze haven’t started selling protein drinks yet. They do however, have an extensive range of cigarettes, candy and snacks.

Great offie with loads to choose from at fab prices — take a fiver and you’ll buy enough for a decent bevvy for the evening. Lots of good offers, nice enough staff too. Definately my first choice when getting the beers in.

I find this quite a strange off license. All the alcohol is behind a glass screen and you have to tell the person behind the glass screen what you want and then they get it for you. I’ve actually never seen anything like it before but I suppose it makes sense. They have really good deals on beers and cider here but the deals on the wine aren’t that great. It’s the same as a supermarket, even a little bit more expensive. Although the out of town ones might be cheaper. Still a cheap and handy place to get booze.
