Went there for lunch, got a great doorstep sandwich. Then went to the ladies where there was neither toilet paper, nor soap in any of the cubicles. When I pointed this out to the staff nothing happend. Not good … Made me wonder if the chefs have got soap and toilet paper

Right next to the train station, which sort of puts it out of the way from most other bars. Fine on a summer evening, but not worth the walk in the winter! Trendy bar with good DJs and relaxed clientele. I cannot rate the food, as it’s not somewhere I would go to eat so close to the restaurants at, say, Highcross. Worth a go if you fancy a change to your usual night out, you might be surprised.

It looks a little naff from the outside, to be sure, but inside it’s all slick minimalism and some of the nicest pizzas in the city. Uncluttered, with cute booths to sit in for the lucky, it also has a sterling array of cocktails and a spacious smoking area, for those who need their nicotine fix. One of the staff once tried to be smart about my choice of Diet Coke and chocolate cake(I prefer the taste of Diet Coke, ok?), but we’ll let that one go. Plus you can even hear the train station announcements in the background sometimes, which tickles a weirdo like me pink.

Situated next door to the train station, Time is one of Leicester’s oldest bars and the first cocktail bar to hit the city nearly 10 years ago. I came on a Friday evening and the place was packed with commuters and office workers. Being a big rum drinker I was impressed by their selection of 20+ rums including an extremely rare Havana 15 year. The service was excellent and the staff were really knowledgeable about their drinks. The bar’s main entrance could do with a face lift but it does offer a great contrast to the large, spacious interior. I would recommend this bar to anyone.

The sort of place if you went by the appearance from the main street, you would never dream of venturing in. Stroll round the corner though and it is a whole new world, going into a really cool bar. It is airy and spacious, with a chic wood look. It’s a big place for the cocktail lover, and not too outrageously priced for those either. As a beer lover there is less on offer bar a fairly standard selection, but I can live with that as it’s a nice place to sit and unwind a while.

Really close to the train station. Have had some great times in Time bar. Good atmosphere. Great times as a student. Seems to be a meeting place for friends who come to Leicester after a long train journey for a swift one. Quite a large bar than has an outdoor seating area outside backing onto the side street.

Situated right next to the train station it is ideally placed if you have travelled from somewhere this bar could be you first stop. A quite trendy bar with decent cocktails on offer.

Large bar situated right next to Leicester train station. It looks a bit naff from outside(as you might guess from the location!), but is actually very nice inside — wooden floors, nice seating and lighting etc. Large outside area for the smokers or if it’s sunny. Staff were really friendly.
