Specialties
«This is an exciting fusion of restaurant, bar and live music venue and is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal before heading upstairs to watch an excellent performance. High ceilings, bare floors, squashy leather seating and indie background music combine to create a relaxing and stylish setting — ideal for enjoying generous portions of unpretentious, freshly made food served by friendly staff.”(Food & Drink Guide 2008)
History
Established in 2004.
Opened in the summer of 2004, Firebug has fast become an essential part of Leicester’s nightlife, as well as a quiet retreat from the city centre shoppers during the day. Our 100 capacity upstairs function room has proved incredibly popular for private parties, intimate club nights, live music and stand-up comedy, as well as photography and art exhibitions, independent film screenings and all manner of other events.
Over the last few years we’ve seen live performances from many notable live acts including Foals, Johnny Foreigner, Envy And Other Sins, Frank Turner, Rolo Tomassi, Frightened Rabbit and Youthmovies. In terms of comedy, Firebug has seen Stewart Lee, Richard Herring, Russell Howard and Josie Long, amongst many others, appear as part of the regular Bottle Rocket Comedy night and The Leicester Comedy Festival.
