Hawkin Pharmacy are also able to provide a wide range of digital printing options in store while you wait. We have a digital print kiosk that allows you to print your pictures while you wait.

History

Established in 1901.

William Arthur Hawkin was the present proprietors great Grandfather. William was born on 30 June 1871 in York.

By the age of 16 he had an Indenture of Apprenticeship to Richard Dresser and Montague Folkard.

By 1901 he had set up his own chemist business in Holgate York.

In 1925 the family moved from York to Burley Street in Leeds. This was the first of three chemist shops in Leeds.

In February 1929 the firm obtained it’s certificate of incorporation becoming the present day W.A.Hawkin & Sons Ltd.

Further pharmacies were acquired in 1935 on Town Street Armley and in 1964 on Otley Old Road Leeds.

The pharmacy has been run by four generations of the same family.
