A small friendly fruit and veg shop with a nice range and always very fresh with a very reasonable price. Would much rather come here than buy from Sainsbury it any other supermarket. The range might not be quite as vast but you can guarantee that’s fresh and as local as possible plus it’s good to support local shops and thereby the local economy.

This place is wonderful! I go here as regularly as I can, and usually go here to get my fruit and veg before visiting Morrison’s and getting what I can’t get at RK Harris & Sons, which is never fruit or veg related as I can get everything I need here! Everything is fresh and beautifully presented. The colours of the produce that are on the street are so enticing, how can you not want to go in? They always have some really good offers on which is great, especially on fruit as we all need a bit of encouraging! I got a punet of blueberries for £1.29 today and two grapefruits for 89p, plus he threw another one in therefor free for me after he had helped my find them. Service has always been exceptional here, especially from the owner who is clearly passionate about his shop. It’s always full of happy customers when I have visited, and many restaurants around the area such as Salvos use them as their supplier which is great to see, as I do love trying to support local business where I can. I see no reason other than convenience for people to use the supermarket to buy their fruit and veg over grocers, you really do get a better deal and supporting your neighbours in doing so! You can also pick up locally produced eggs, milk and yogurt from here too.

Awesome place to get your fruit and Veg from i couldn’t believe how cheap it was. You would think being a small independent place it would have to be more expensive than say Salisbury’s but its not. i implore you to do your fruit and veg shopping at small places like this as otherwise we will be all working for tesco.

OK, so I’m officially a total fan. I made a conscious effort the other day to make use of the glorious independent shops in Headingley, which are fast developing as the months go by, and came in here to pick up some weekly veg. I can’t think of anywhere more convenient for people to go for vegetables, enough to last the week, for **£3.50**! Why oh why do I not keep coming back?! Yes. That is correct. A handful of mushrooms, two huge peppers, two courgettes, a packet of mange tout, a massive bulb of garlic and a huge broccoli. Wow! I couldn’t believe it, I knew it was cheap but not *that* cheap. Nor could I believe my years of stupidity, for constantly going back to the supermarket on the premise that it would be easier/cheaper.(«But everything’s in one place, an’ that!» was my previous argument.) Since Headingley is now the proud owner of both a bakery AND a butcher, there is practically no excuse to go back to Sainsbury’s! Especially given that they’re all 5mins from each other and on a Tuesday evening there were no queues at all. Go R.K. Harris! Yeah!

R.K. Harris is a much-needed independent green grocer in Headingley. It sells almost exclusively fruit and vegetables at decent prices. If you’re used to supermarkets it’s easy to forget the joy of a shop selling purely fruit and veg… the rainbow of colours and smells — yum! Enough to put you off junk food for… well…a bit! The staff are really friendly and helpful here and it’s a joy to stock up on essential fruity veggy goodness at an independent family-run business knowing you could be in the Sainbury’s round the corner!

Every area of Leeds needs a fresh fruit and veg shop. Headingleys answer is R K Harris & Sons. It makes a change to find somewhere that offers up reasonably priced food that doesn’t include frozen goods and biscuits, but a healthier alternative. R K Harris is a perfectly well stocked fruit and veg shop, lovingly nurtured by the dedicated staff, transforming what you would normally think of as a tacky bar and One-Stop Shop infested area into somewhere with much more of a local feel. I applaud you R K Harris & Sons, you really are one of Headingleys saving graces.

RK Harris & Sons is an absolute gem! I used to live round the corner and so would tend to get most of my fruit and veg from here. Even though there was a chain supermarket round the corner, the prices here were amazingly lower and the produce was really good quality. It is mainly all seasonal produce and there is a wide variety of different things to choose from. Perfect for making my winter veg risotto or a nice fruit salad. The girls who work there were always bright eyed and bushy tails, even if it was 8am! They understand how to please there customers and create a good level of customer loyalty, it is a really good place to stock up on the good stuff.

It is so lovely that even within easy reach of two convenience stores and a small supermarket you can still find and fantastically well stocked fruit and veg shop laid out and presented in a traditional way. This may be because it supplies businesses but whatever the reason it must save one or student students from the tedium of supermarket and packaged food life and provide a little bit of inspiration. There is a good turn over in this store as you are not likely to find things looking worse for ware, the staff are helpful and you can get local milk too.

This is a top quality green grocers that offers good fresh food at great prices(They supply lots of restaurants so you can be assured its quality produce). They sell all the fruit and veg you can think off as well as other foods such as eggs and milk. If you need fresh herbs just ask and they will nip in the back and bring you a massive bunch out for 99p. About 5 times as much as you would get in the supermarket. The staff are really friendly and helpful and always thank you for shopping there. I used to live in Headingley but moved last year to Bramley, even though its not very local I still go back when i can to get all my fruit and vegetables.

Tooting Tony works here, a great big huggable looking bloke who drives around in his van and toots his horn when he gets near to the shop. I love my fruit and veg and always buy from here because I know I am guaranteed great quality food at great affordable prices.

This is a brilliant greengrocers situated right in the middle of Headingley. Offering a wide range of fruit and vegetables, herbs, plants and eggs and milk, we get nearly everything from here. Keith and his staff are all really friendly and helpful. They also do home delivery. :)

This is my best shop in the world EVER. I have to come on my way to work, or dead early on a Saturday, because all the good stuff goes quick. Old people and walk-of-shamers are the only people who shop here. And me. They sell free range eggs for 99p for 6, which is about 50p cheaper than in Morrisons, and the hugest nectarines I’ve ever seen are 4 for a pound. Their Christmas trees are ace too. The greengrocer man(MR Harris?) is very friendly and always greets me with a ‘Good morning! We’re open, come in! Shout me if you need anything, we’re grateful for your business!’ — now how lovely is that? UPDATE! We got our Christmas tree today from Mr Harris woop woop! A gargantuan 8 footer for £25. Bargainous.
