An organic farm shop selling really excellent meat and vegetables as well as a variety of tinned and packet foods, eggs etc — again all organic. It’s slightly hit and miss as if something hasn’t grown properly or they’ve run out various things might not be available. But that’s the nature of places like this. I once asked if they had any more lettuce as the one they had was very small, and they said ‘well, only in the field — come back tomorrow’ — the food is that fresh. The food does taste much better than the veg you get at the supermarkets. Sometimes they have legendary ‘pink fir apple’ potatoes which are probably the most delicious spuds I have ever tasted. Lovely people too and well worth a trip out of town — the countryside here is beautiful!
