This old building was designed by William Forrest Valentine in lovely Ballochmyle ashlar red sandstone and replaced various smaller lodges throughout Kilmarnock. It was completed in 1926 and is found on the south side of the busy London Road between the Dick Institute and the Palace Theatre. The consecration of the new Masonic temple here took place on Saturday, 10th December, 1927. This is home to four lodges; the others who meet here are St Marnock number 109, St Andrew(126) and St Clements(202). I passed this today, as I do often, as it’s on my way to the town but I knew almost nothing about it until I did some research!
