Description

Specialties

Teaching Babies and Children to swim in a safe and FUN environment.

History

Established in 2000.

Back in good old 1987 I asked Mum (aka Janet Madden) if she could help out with our school swimming lessons.

Soon parents were asking Mum if she would give private swimming lessons outside of school lessons. Her entrepreneurial instincts kicked in and she realised that, other than learning to swim at school or the local sports centre, there were no private swimming schools in the area.

So in 1990, Mum hired some pool time at Beechwood School in Slough and J.M. Swimming Schools was born.

Flyers were printed up and handed out at local schools, shops and high streets.

Mum’s mix of small classes, personal service and a caring, fun approach soon won many loyal customers and the business started to grow.

Today, Seriously FUN help many babies, children, young adults and parents enjoy the water and learn essential swimming and lifesaving skills.

Meet the Business Owner

Claire W.

Business Owner

I grew up swimming and it’s always been a part of my life, from learning to swim to joining the local swimming club and representing them in galas. I went on to swim for Kent, becoming National Triathlon Champion and then competing for England in the first International Biathlon.

Given that swimming had always been a major part of my life, when I had children I knew they were always going to learn to swim. Freddie was born in November 2005 and Abbie arrived in November 2009.

What really attracted me to being part of Seriously FUN Swimming Schools was the age range that we teach, from babies right up to children of 12 years. I also liked that it was a family business and the ‘feel’ that I got from the Madden family.

So far, our experience of franchising with Seriously FUN Swimming School has been fantastic! In the future I would like to be in a position to take on a neighbouring territory so that I can expand into a new area.
