Specsavers

Buzzing with helpful but not pushy staff, there’s a great deal to be had here. My last visit was comprehensive and easy to transition my prescription from D&A. The team even rang through later that day to confirm details. It’s the «little extra» factor!

Quite a large Specsavers in comparison to some of their other stores. Staff are very friendly, prices good. I use them for my contact lenses and never had any problems.

I decide to use Specsavers a couple of years ago when my local optician became (sadly) just too expensive.
The store in Kendal is bright and modern with lots of special equipment for performing the all-​important eye tests as well as qualified optometrists who can examine you thoroughly and check that you’re wearing the right lenses. I’ve been very pleased with them so far.
One advantage of Specsavers is that, although they encourage you to join one of their schemes (and that could be a better deal in some cases) you are free to buy contact lenses from their website once you have your prescription. That suits me as the prices are extremely reasonable, plus you can order exactly the quantity you need (or can afford in my case).
