We focus on minimising our clients’ current taxation liabilities, and put in place proactive tax planning measures to protect their growing wealth, eventual business sale and ultimate retirement.

We have a thorough understanding of our clients’ business and speak their language… presenting financial information to non-​accountants without the jargon.

We support our clients in the creation of businesses that have the ability to operate without total reliance on them. Our main role is to effectively act as a virtual or quasi finance director to those companies big enough to necessitate that kind of input, though cannot justify the full time cost.

We are here not to simply keep score, but to be the first port of call for assistance with any current issue in our clients’ business, and to plan for the future.

History

Established in 2000.

Founded by John Oddy in 2000 the firm has undergone several name changes over the years but since Mark Overend became a Partner in 2013 the firm has been known Ascentis Accountants LLP and traded simply as Ascentis.

John’s key strengths is combining accountancy and taxation regulation with commercial business development advice, solving problems in a creative way that adds value throughout the process where none had seemed to exist. An accountant who provides excellent marketing advice, passionate about making his clients wealthy and happy in what they do, and unlike many other «business advisers», someone who has run, developed and sold successful businesses, and continues to do so.
