Ok this another as good as it gets review for me. You may or may not recognise the name and it is a growing chain of restaurant /take away joint. Do not let the name mislead you you will not find a kebab in the Turkish /Greek sense here rather good olé curries, naans and lots of grilled or straight outta the tandoor oven meats. I remember way back when Kebabish had a single, tiny, greasy outlet on Green Street open for all the revellers returning from all night raves!!! woop! Now then, the food, well ive always thought the kebabs(skewered minced lamb) were a bit too spicy, however i think thats been addressed recently. The curries are all great the lamb and chicken do not dissapoint. i see this particular kebabish as something in between a canteen and a table cloth restaurant, great for kids and sunday’s after football with the lads. food def hits the spot. Kebabish Original is i would say from my observation more popular with the second/third generation of migrant, mainly Pakistani diaspora, for that reason you will find wot i like to call ‘hybrid’ food. For example, you could ask for a ‘kebab roll’ a type of fast food item consisting of usually two kebabs, salad and sauces, which is wrapped in a tandoori naan. like a huge hot-dog but not quite. The kebab-roll is a product im sure of kids wanting homely food with a western twist. Should you ask for a kebab roll on your trip to the sub-continent you will most likely be met with a blank stare, in fact it would be a safe assumption to say requesting it beyond the shores of Blighty will yield an exact response: o In sum for what it is Kebabish is consistently above average.
