Rockmeadow Boarding Kennels & Cattery

I had 3 boxers, we’re down to 2 now but my girls and boy have been coming here for years. The old fella who passed away just before xmas was given free run of the place when out with Jon and used to happily sleep under the desk… he was a VERY happy Rockmeadow dog til the day he died. I would prefer to see a messy office and a happy dog anyday over clinically clean… real doggy people will understand this. My guys never missed me at all when we went on holiday and sometimes we left them for 4 weeks! Jon always put them first and even took on their veterinary care on acouple of occassions (not simple stuff either). I wouldn’t trust anyone else except maybe there breeder, Jon’s family now. Jon goes the extra mile for his charges and cares about them all. Those of us who have got to know the kennel and Jon over the years know how happy our dogs are and how lucky we are to have such a good kennel close by. You get what you pay for these days and somethings are just priceless. Thanks Rockmeadow

The sign as you turn into Rockmeadow says ‘welcome to you and your owner’ which nicely sums up the spirit of the place I think.
A family run business who also take in Irish Setters on behalf of the Setter Rescue organisation, John also breeds and shows his lovely setters.
The kennels looks after all dog breeds — I don’t think there is a cattery at all — and there is a really positive vibe about the place. The office is a bit chaotic but clearly they’d rather be with the dogs than doing filing — that’s fine with me. Our setter has been twice and she was so excited when she went the second time, almost a year after the first, was was lovely to see. Recommended.
