Having a hi-life card was an incentive to visit, and it was a pleasant surprise. They have quite a selection of food on the menu, and this is when alarm bells should ring. Being a jack of all trades can sometimes go against you, as you don’t specialise/excel in anything. I ordered the beef brisket with potatoes and greens, similar to a Sunday roast, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would’ve been happy to pay full price for it, and the food is all reasonably priced. My brisket was really nicely cooked, and the gravy was good. As it accommodates«evening activities», the interior isn’t probably the best, and you could almost feel your feet stick to the floor! Other than that, it was ok. Service was relatively quick and friendly. If you’re around the area for some food, give Garbos a try!

Very good choice of draught lagers which seem to be little of in this area of the old town. Food is good with friendly staff Been a number of times we have come to see a band, which they advertised and found the band had not shown up
