Adelphi Club

been to adelphi for a long time now, i usually go to ‘payback’ and it is the best night ever! seriously, get yourself to payback

Cool club, good live music, different to all other clubs, not the usual boring launch atmosphere

One of the best live music venues ive ever been too. Independently run for over 20 years the Adelphi has a lot of history, over the years every band from green day to oasis have played there. The prices of drinks are fair and the club itself is scruffy yet charming offering a relaxed surrounding that is not full of pretentious kids with non gender specific hair cuts (like all the other alternative music venues in the town). In the 10 plus years ive been going to the place I have never once seen or heard of any trouble at the venue. Nearly every night of the week something is going on with bands and musicians from all over the world regularly coming to Hull whilst on tour just to play the famous venue. If you live in the town or are visiting this place is one you should definetly check out. It may not be there forever, places this cool are a dying breed.

dingy, overpriced, full of fail and people trying too hard to be ‘cool’ and failing.
The entrance fee for events is shocking and the acts are all lame and two a penny.
the staff are rude and refuse to serve you if you are over 20.

A really cool club. It is tiny and hosts loads of bands that are up and coming, so you get to see them first! Musicians can also rent out the club to perform their own music and then they earn the fee that people pay to get in (usually a pound or 2).
It hosts alternative music and has a huge following of Adelphi lovers. I dont think theres a cloak room and it’s not so clean, so dont bring your best coat, it may end up on the floor!
