Specialties
We are an independent bar tucked away in an alley in the town centre. Easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for but a delightful experience when found.
We stock 9 draught beers including three real ales which are mostly (if not all), from local brewers. We are currently featured in the Good Beer Guide for the third time.
We have a fantastic selection of Spirits, specialising in Gin (currently 31 on offer).
We have an enthusiastically selected wine list and several champagnes and local wines all available by the glass.
History
Established in 1986.
The building itself was built circa 1550. It still boasts original beams and horse-hair walls. Modifications have been made sympathetically to bring the venue up to date.
In its colourful history it has been, a toy shop, a hairdressers and a tea shop. The current owner purchased the building for a mind boggling £1 and opened a team room called the Pound House. We’ve been trading as Piries Bar for near on 30 years now so we are a staple of the delightful town of Horsham
Meet the Manager
Ross A.
Manager
I was born in the tiny town of Cinderford in the Forest of Dean in 1977 where I was raised until I was 14 years old. Family circumstances then took me to Gloucester city where I attended Saintbridge Technolgy School. After leaving school I relocated to Boston in Lincolnshire where I settled for 8 years before moving back to Gloucestershire for another 6 years. It was here that I got my first bar managers job At The Lamprey in Westgate Street overlooking Gloucester Cathedral.
I eventually ended up in Horsham in 2004 and worked at and then ran Bar Vin (sadly no longer there), in Market Square before coming to joining the Piries team where I have been now for over 5 years
