Lovely, warm, cosy place for a stop if you’re driving the Trotternish peninsula. After days of tasty meat pies, sausages, and fish n chips I needed at least one healthy meal. £7 for a delicious combo of soup, bread, brie, and salad. This was also probably the healthiest meal during my 2 week UK trip. Soup was a nice butternut squash which had a nice zing to it… I asked about this, and the owner/chef Ella herself came out to tell me it was coriander. Groovy!

Ella’s Café is a very casual, 5 – 6 table café in Uig that serves midday meals and tea. Location: We almost drove past it, but it’s just off A87, behind the petrol filling station in Uig(near the ferry). Food: Delicious, but could be small portions for some. The highland lunch included two hearty slices of bread, three cheese, a small ramekin of chutney, salad, and a few small oatcakes. Very very tasty and filling. The bread with hummus has two hearty slices of bread, a small/medium hummus with a little pesto on top, and salad. Also extremely tasty. Prices: Very reasonable. The highland lunch was £6.5, the bread and hummus £4.5, extra bread was £1, and an individual pot of tea was £1.
