Henley Ice Cream

Lovely little ice cream parlour located in Stratford upon avon. Very popular, especially on a hot day like it was today. Queues outside the door. There is some seating inside and few tables outside. A large selection of ice cream scoops available, including honey and ginger, butterscotch, tutti fruity, lemon and lime, mint choc chip, lemon meringue and the list goes on. You can have a single scoop cone, double, waffle cone, or just a tub. The ice cream is very tasty and high quality. Prices are slightly high but you are paying for the real deal. A double scoop wafer cone cost me £3.20. I recommend this place without a doubt.

The quality of ice cream is wonderful, and the variety of flavours will suit every sweet tooth. A visit is strongly recommended wether you are walking to the mound, or passing through on your way to Stratford.
The other reviews say it all. But this little shop might just convince me to move to Henley!

My family and I used to drive to Stratford upon Avon most weekends to go and have drink or a meal together. I had my first legal pint with my Dad at a pub in Stratford, so the area holds a lot of special memories to me.
On the drive down the long Stratford Road to Stratford lies the sleepy village of Henley Upon Arden. Henley is a rich and hilly area, very sleepy and content. In the centre on Henley lies the Creamery.
They only serve at the most 7 flavours of ice cream, but they do each one of them so well that it simply doesn’t matter. There are real raspberries in the raspberry ice cream. There are mint leaves in the mint. The tastes are just amazing.
They are slightly more expensive than ice cream bought in the shops, but it is worth it to try the homemade delights they have on offer here.

Henley Ice Cream Parlour is family run business well renamed in Henley in Arden city that impresses me for some many reasons. This wonderful Tudor construction dated back from early 1930’s is a famous homemade ice cream specialist since 1934!
I have been to Henley parlour not just to test their (many) different ice cream flavours but also because I was craving for a cup of coffee and that seemed the right place to start my visit to this gorgeous city. I was right.
Henley Ice Cream is a wonderful and welcoming place where customers are inviting to enjoy a lovely breakfast in a very relaxing atmosphere. Every tables has a piece of ceramic title as a simple and delicate detail of its décor.
As a pretty busy establishment in the morning with visit of locals and tourists expects to have a nice chit-​chat with costumers!
The menu has quite a range of options and their sandwiches are good in taste and presentation! I have chosen a delicious Roast Turkey with Cranberry sauce (£ 3.50). The tea cakes are also tempting and for only 50 pence you can have your chocolate fix right there!
The average price of their sandwiches and panini is between £2.30 and £4.85 and the famous ice cream flavours that bring so many people to this shop is something to highlight indeed and I was pretty glad they have my favourite one Rum & Raising just waiting for my visit!
Henley Ice Cream deliveries what its famous for, good quality homemade ice cream but also cater for everyone interesting in having a nice break in this lovely city.

Apparently a visit to Henley Ice Cream parlour is a rite of passage for Brummies living in the south of the city. I don’t remember visiting as a child as I’m sure the memory of this wonderful place would have stayed with me.
The ice cream is made on local farms and there were easily 30 varieties to chose from. There is everything from classic vanilla to, surely that can’t taste right, lemon meringue pie. All four of the flavours we tried were wonderful.
The charm of the place lies in it being housed in a 16^th century building complete with rickety stairs leading up to a tradition tea room. Here they serve lunch, traditional cooked breakfasts and of course Henley ice cream milk shakes. Henley Ice Cream has been served here since the 1930s so they really know what they are doing!
Be careful though — we easily spent £7 on ice cream!

I first found this lovely little place while visiting relatives in Henley-​In-​Arden a few years ago and became hooked, to the point of getting my fella to drive me to Henley when I fancied an ice cream while pregnant — under the pretence of visiting said relatives of course!
The last time I went was at the beginning of December 2008 and for the first time ate hot food in the Tea Room as well as a bowl of delicious Henley ice cream.
The tea room is laid out in a very quaint and old fashioned way, and it has a lovely bright and airy atmosphere. I enjoyed the hour I spent in here, my twelve year old got bored but read her Mizz and soon perked up when the food arrived!
My daughter had a full English breakfast which was freshly cooked and looked (and smelled!) delicious; bacon, sausage, fried egg, beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and toast plus something else that I can’t remember were all beautifully cooked and Charlotte ate every single mouthful — unusual for her as she’s a really picky child when we eat out.
I had a sausage & bacon baguette which was amazing, I’d asked for my bacon to be well done and it was perfectly crispy without being cremated. The crisp baguette was buttered very lightly so that the heat from the sausage melted it into the bread, a dollop of ketchup completed my meal.
We both had ice cream, of course, I had coffee flavour and my daughter chose banana fudge. The coffee ice cream was deliciously creamy and very authentic to the taste of real coffee, when I had a spoon of my daughters I almost wished I’d had the banana fudge though because it had an intense banana flavour but sweetened like an excellent quality fudge. Wow, I was in ice cream heaven!
I’d anticipated visiting Henley Ice Cream and had my cold box in the car so I could buy some of their ice cream for the freezer as there isn’t a stockist local to me. They enclose the tubs in a hardy bubble wrap bag which helps to protect against melting, popping these into the cold box meant that my the ice cream was still frozen after the 30 minute journey back to South Birmingham. To take home I bought Ginger & Lime, Cherry, Banana Fudge, Pralines & Cream and Clotted Cream ice cream and this cost me around £15; sounds expensive I know but this is excellent quality ice cream which lasts for ages, plus this is cheaper than buying the equivalent of Ben & Jerrys!
The tea room also serves a selection of drinks, I had a coffee which was served with cream and brown sugar and my daughter had a milk shake made with delicious vanilla Henley ice cream.
Prices are slightly more expensive than eating in a standard café, but I was expecting this as it’s such a pretty and unusual place to eat.
