Mega Bites Cafe

We’ve been a few times now. The cooked breakfast is usually of high quality, well cooked and not at all greasy. The filled rolls are massive and crispy and the coffee is tasty Italian brand so the produce is better than most café’s of this type and well priced.
The last time we were there it wasn’t busy and the staff were having an inane conversation with each other from one side to the other, lowering the tone and pretty annoying to be honest. So they let themselves down in that respect.
However this was a one off and dont let it put you off, if you’re looking for a decent bite in Hamilton at a reasonable price it is one of the best options.

Attached to the Mega Amusement arcade, which I have reviewed before, this café has just opened back up for business, and was probably more missed than the arcade itself! It’s not somewhere you would gravitate towards if you were out shopping and fancied a cuppa, but I can honestly say it is really decent, friendly and cheaply priced, essential ingredients for a mid-​shopping brew stop.
I have been a good few times, many times with young kids who wanted to play the arcade games, and it is a welcome seat away from the flashing and constant irritating beeping and buzzing of the arcade machines!
Any one who has ever had a Morton’s roll will vouch for how fantastic they are, a real Scottish gem, and this wee café sells them with fillings for no more than £2 each! You can have hot breakfast fillings or cold meats and cheese. I had a cheese and ham toastie which was delicious, and only cost just over £2 as well!
The coffee is real and not just Nescafe in a polystyrene cup, I had a lovely latte, which was only £1.70, pretty good considering a Costa or a Starbucks will set you back £3 or more!
Fantastic! I also hear that they do lovely home baking which I will have to go back and sample soon!
