Great little pub. You must get down there when they have their music festivals, there is a great atmosphere and great live music being played.

The best entertainment venue in Sowerby Bridge and always has been. Tiny place so when there’s a good band on you need to get there for 7 to get a seat. Great for ale & cider drinkers not so good if you prefer larger. Their is a lovely warm atmos all the year round. A true working mans pub and a million times better than ‘The Works’ which is a very poor second venue in sowerby bridge.

The Puzzle is open again. Apparently it closed soon after I moved away. I don’t think the two events were related but anyway it’s open again.
Thankfully apart from giving the place a jolly good clean nothing has changed inside. I suspect it looks the same as it did in the 1930s.
There’s also the welcome addition of more local beers. They had Little Valley and Ilkley Brewery beers when I was there plus around 3 other real ales.
If you are looking for a traditional pub in Sowerby Bridge this is by far your best option.
