What an amazing experience. We were a bit nervous due to the price and not really knowing what to expect but the flight simulator experience was so worth it. Booking online is very easy and any inquiries are responded to quickly as well.
We arrived a tad early but our pilot/​instructor had no problem starting upon arrival and providing us a nice tour of all of the simulators they have on site. Each simulator is approximately 10,000 GBP and they have 15 at this location for the various Boeing and Airbus models. Unfortunately the A380 and 787 are not at this location. Public use of the flight simulators did not open to the public until three years ago.
On to the actual flying…
The simulators have hydraulics so it really as if you are taking off, landing, or just flying through the air. Our instructor Stuart Slater explained every detail of the plane and walked through all of the knobs and switches of the control panel… and there are a lot! He then proceeded to step by step walk through how to steer the plane and how to complete a take-​off and landing. You could tell that he really loved his job and loved flying!
The planes have various airports loaded in them and so we tried out NY JFK as well as LHR. We got to fly ridiculously low and see all of the computer generated images of the cities. The images are very realistic and even show moving traffic on the appropriate side of the road respective to each country.
Great once in a lifetime experience and worth the price.
