I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed The Groomsport Inn before as I have been a regular here since I was 18! The pub itself has great facilities, including a decked smoking area looking over the harbour and Irish Sea and large screens that have the ability to show the football and rugby simultaneously. Myself and a group of friends visited the G’port Inn on Saturday for a bite to eat and I was surprised about how quiet it was. We were able to get a prime corner booth, as ever we were served promptly by the excellent waiting staff. Strangely we all decided to have the same meal, chicken goujons with peppered sauce although I opted for a side of Chunky chips. The food was cooked to absolute perfection. The thick chunks of chicken were battered beautifully! I can’t fault The Groomsport in one bit — the food is to die for!

The Groomsport Inn is a brilliant bar which also serves fantastic food. Mexican night on Wednesday, steak night on Thursday, and just all round great pub grub. They show live sports which attracts a great atmosphere, always very busy at weekends with all the locals in. Staff are very friendly and service is brilliant. It also has a very good beer garden with a smashing view of Groomsport Harbour,(dog friendly) brilliant on summer nights, but this time of the year could be very nippy! Would highly recommend!

Fantastic place to watch both football and rugby. There’s 2 fixed screens downstairs in the main pub as well as a pull down projector screen when really big games are on. They have a huge beer garden with fantastic views over Groomsport’s picturesque harbour. The staff are excellent and they help to maintain the local pub feel of the Groomsport Inn. There’s a downstairs ‘snug’ area and an upstairs space which are usually reserved for private functions. The food is great, real honest pub grub — the sort that will warm you up on a winters day. The G’port Inn is popular at the weekend so get down early to grab a seat in front of the tv.

Great little seaside village pub that has really improved over time. Great food now and as good a pint of the blackstuff as you’ll get anywhere. The redevelopment of the beer garden is massive and is dog friendly. What’s better than a summers evening stroll along the beach with the pooch followed by a relaxing pint. Roll on the summer.

The Groomsport Inn is an absolute gem — what’s not to like? They have cold beers, sport on TV, friendly serving staff, great food and unrivalled views of the Irish Sea and Groompsort harbour from the raised Beer garden. In the summer months the raised beer garden is a real sun trap. The Groomsport in is somewhat of a rabbit warren as from the outside it looks reasonably small but it offers a spacious function room upstairs and generous seating area within the main bar. It can get busy when live sport is on TV so make sure you get down early and enjoy the craic with the friendly locals.

This is a pub that has been here for a long, long time under a number of different names. It used to be the Lock and Quay but has been under the name The Groomsport Inn for quite a while. It is a pretty nice wee pub that has all the pints, spirits and wines that you would expect from a local pub. The staff are friendly and the pubgrub that you get here is of the best quality. There is a great wee beer garden out the back when the sun is out and you want a wee pint outside. Its a bit of a walk from the centre of Bangor but if you take the costal path it is a lovely way to spend a few hours.
