Easybus Stansted

Long story short: I was left in a parking lot at 4am in Chamonix, France by an unbelievably unreasonable Easybus driver after already having paid for my ticket. After the driver left me stranded I realize he took off with my work laptop bag. I then had to take a 300 euro cab to the Geneva airport since the driver left me. I cannot effectively express the lack of logic or professionalism by that Easybus driver.
After arriving home, I tried contacting Easybus… big surprise, they don’t have a phone number. «They are able to cut costs for you by not having the added expense of a telephone». I have tried to write them three times now and haven’t received a single response. Easybus owes me a computer, a tablet, 300 euro, and a lot of wasted time back, and I’m sure I’ll never receive any of it.
Please do yourself a favor and don’t use Easybus.

The £6 price is attractive and the advertised journey time of 60 mins isn’t that much longer than the Stansted ‘express’ at nearly 4x the price so looks good on paper.
The journey to Stansted (early afternoon) went well. On time pick up and arrival, no problems, very satisfied.
The problem was the return journey. We were booked on a 19:40 bus from Stansted to Old St. Arrived at the stop where around 20 people were already waiting (bus has capacity for about 12). 19:40 came and went. Three Easy buses parked in the far corner of the car park but motionless. About 30 mins later a bus arrived. Twelve passengers boarded. The driver waved his hands saying that there was no timetable anymore due to a road being closed. Turns out there had been major thunderstorms and a tunnel on the A12 had been closed due to flooding and of course this was Friday evening rush hour and doesn’t take much to turn slow traffic into gridlock. OK that was out of there hands but here’s my issue:
— No contact number that I could find on their website.
— At the neighbouring bus stop (for Baker St) three buses came within the time that one came for Old St. We asked the driver if we could board that bus but he told us that «two buses were on their way for us». After refusing to let us board, he left taking the ONE passenger that was waiting for that bus to Baker St as the growing queue of around 30 people waited patiently for the Old St bus.
— Meanwhile, two Easy Buses sat at the back of the car park with drivers inside (probably on their break).
— After a total wait of 1.5 hours with no real information or confidence that anything would show up, we had had enough and took the train instead.
Shambles.
It could be so much better with just some basic organisation and when there are problems with traffic, no one seemed to be coordinating the operation.

I would sooner apply a cheese grater to my scrotum than use Easybus again. Here’s why.
We’d booked an Easyjet flight from Stanstead for our honeymoon (saving money for the hotel) and figured we’d use Easybus to get us there. I booked a pair of tickets from Baker Street that should have got us there an hour and a half before the flight was due to leave — figuring this should give us a comfortable margin of error.
It would have, if Easybus had been running as scheduled, but it wasn’t. When we got to the bus stop (which is also used by National Express coaches to Stansted) we found someone claiming he was still waiting from the earlier Easybus visit and hadn’t been able to get into the the 12-​seat transit vans the firm is using.
What was even more worrying was that the bus itself was now 30 minutes late. Now London traffic is a pain at the best of times, but this was mid-​afternoon on a Tuesday — hardly rush hour. Goodness knows what the service is like when traffic really backs up.
Once again, the bus was overbooked. My wife bullied herself on board anyway, something I felt a little guilty about but went with. The driver didn’t try to enforce any kind of order among the passengers to be — it was whoever got on board first and devil take the hindmost.
When we squeezed on board the rickety transit van our troubles weren’t over. The seatbelt on my seat didn’t work, which would have been dangerous if the driver had been in any kind of hurry to get to his destination. We drove slowly through North London streets (rather than taking the much faster North Circular road) and the clock ticked on. We were still in north London when our scheduled arrival time at Stansted rolled around, and my better half was getting seriously worried.
This concern wasn’t shared by the driver. At one point he stopped to pick up another passenger, putting her in the front seat next to him, and also took a break to converse with another Easybus driver who happened to be on the same route.
We finally got to Stansted airport 40 minutes before the flight left. The driver stood there as though waiting for a tip while we manhandled luggage from the tiny space provided to store it (most people had to carry their bags on their knees) and ran for the check-​in desk. We convinced the excellent Easyjet staff to still allow us to check our bags in, breathed a sigh of relief, and started counting our new grey hairs.
Seriously — do not bother with Easybus. While waiting for the company’s transit van to show up two National Express coaches going to Stansted stopped at the same pick-​up point outside Baker Street — long, luxurious-​looking buses with Wi-​Fi and ample storage space for luggage. I don’t know what National Express cost to use, but considering we spent over ten pounds each on Easybus tickets and the ride nearly ruined the start of our honeymoon, the competition should be cheap at twice the price.

Euh arg!
On avait réservé chez eux parce ryanair nous envoyé directement sur cette navette, alors qu’il y en a plein d’autres, moins chères et… plus grandes.
En effet ici minibus de 12 places. On avait pas prévues de mettre une demi-​heure à passer la douane donc on loupe forcément l’horaire que l’on avait réservé.
Même si le billet stipule que l’on peut emprunter n’importe quelle navette dans les 60 minutes avant/​après l’horaire de réservation, il n’est indiqué nul part que c’est sous réserve de place et du bon vouloir du chauffeur. On a ainsi vu partir 3 navettes avant de pouvoir en emprunter une…
Pour le retour panique: navettes accidentées donc une heure et demi de retard… Heureusement on a pu emprunter la première navette arrivée… ce qui né fut pas le cas de groupes plus nombreux.
Bref la prochaine fois, ça sera une autre compagnie, ou le train (directement dans l’aéroport).

Easybus is a shuttle service between Stansted airport and baker street. Its about 10 quid pr person. You can and should book your tickets in advance online, the bus doesnt have many seats and it fills up pretty quickly. You have to book a spesific time, the shuttle goes every 20 min or so. You are then guaranteed a seat! It takes about 1.15t to go from stansted to baker street. Its a little bit crowded and the drivers are not that serviceminded, but it takes you where you need to go. You can also buy tickets from the booth in the airport. The bus goes from platform 11
Easybus er en minibuss som går mellom stansted flyplass og baker street. Det koster ca 10 pund pr person og går hvert 20 min. Billettene kan bookes online på deres hjemmeside, dette sikrer deg plass på bussen, da det er få plasser. Billettene kan også kjøpes rett ved utgangen til flyplassen eller direkte av sjåføren, men dette garanterer ikke at du får plass med neste buss og du må kanskje vente til det er ledig plass. Bussen går fra plattform 11. Den bruker ca 1,15 t fra A til B. Hvis du kommer før tiden du har booket, kan du fortsatt få sitte på med en tidligere buss så lenge det er ledig plass. Sjåførene er ikke alltid like blide, men de hjelper deg på med bagasjen, det kan også være ganske trangt i bussen derfor får den ikke noe høyere score, men det fungerer helt greit som transport middel.
