History

Established in 2001.

Established in 2001 by Ian Howard and Yvonne Carratt our rapid growth initiated a move into purpose built headquarters in Grantham in 2003, attracting a number of key lawyers from other firms throughout the midlands. In 2007 our Warrington branch was launched to strengthen our industrial disease and road traffic department and, in 2010, our London office was opened in the heart of the City to enhance our ability to service our clients across the UK.

At the heart of our ethos and success is a client focussed and service orientated approach. We combine legal expertise with a supportive approach and pride ourselves on our ability to communicate effectively with all of our clients, so you can be sure that you will have our complete understanding, attention and commitment throughout your claim. Perhaps uniquely, we can also assure our clients that all of our cases have high or total involvement of at least one of our senior solicitors or directors.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Ian is the Managing Director of JMP Solicitors.

After graduating with an Honours Degree in Law in 1997, Ian originally qualified as a Barrister before successfully re-​qualifying as a Solicitor in 2000.

Ian worked for a leading international law firm before becoming one of the founding members of JMP Solicitors. Ian has extensive experience in complex claimant and defendant litigation including high value personal injury claims, clinical negligence, fatal injuries, industrial disease and accidents at work in addition to all aspects of commercial litigation.

In addition to Ian’s legal experience, he is also the Officer responsible for Compliance, Money Laundering and is the Principal in charge of the Firm’s trainee solicitors.

Ian is the appointed Compliance Officer for Legal Practices (COLP) as required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
