Frances Riley is Head Designer and plans, draws and consults with her clients to help them achieve a garden built from an idea and turned into reality. Garden design is a skilled and useful way to achieve an outdoor space which is a delight to use. Planting, features, paving and sitting areas are all key elements of good garden design, and are carefully placed with the garden to add interest.

Frances works with her husband, Robert who engineers the plans into real gardens.

She has B.A. with Honours in her field, and writes articles on gardening fro a Godalming magazine. She has practised for 20 years and her passion for innovative planting and use of colour in the garden is an inspiration.

History

Established in 1992.

1 to One Garden Design started in Shere, Surrey. Frances Riley has been promoting good garden design and planting design for many years, in the hope of inspiring her clients to develop or build a garden which enhances their quality of life and get the most out of their plot of land, however big or small.

The challenges can be huge– considering planning control, Tree Preservation Orders, difficult access to the house and many more obstacles on her way.

Her knowledge of practical issues and overcoming obstacles is one of her key attributes as she has a solid history of gardening hands on.

Frances trained under the London Open College Federation and then a B.A. garden design with First Class Honours from Kingston University.

She writes and freelances herself whilst managing the construction of her designs throughout the Surrey area. Garden Design offers her an ability to enhance any property, and it’s value too. Most Surrey homeowners recognise the need to present a beautiful outdoor space if they are considering the sale of a their home.

A well designed garden is a place you look forward to being in. Your very own haven to retreat to, a happy place for your children to play in, or somewhere to spend time with your friends and family. I’ll use my expertise and experience to guide you from start to finish.
