History

Established in 2000.

I started making dresses professionally when I was 17. I was a seamstress at Tracy Connop Wedding Dresses and the Jermyn Street Shirtmakers and worked from home for several years. I set up CM Gowns when we moved to our current address. I have made some unusual garments including robes for a Catholic priest and ordination robres for Buddhist monks and the ceremonial frock coat, waistcoat and breeches for the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire.

I have been dressmaking since I was 7, making dresses for my dolls. I am a mother and grandmother and my hobbies include all things to do with textiles. I spin, weave, dye, knit, crochet and cross-​stitch. I am a member of the Gloucestershire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers.
