History
Established in 2003.
The first «little slice of the big apple» was originally carved out in 2003 when a chef, who had spent some time living & working in America, returned to Glasgow and spotted a niche in the market for hearty American food.
Over the years, TriBeCa’s reputation grew and grew, until eventually this little café was queued out all weekend.
You could almost say TriBeCa was a victim of its own success, with reviewers lamenting a lengthy wait time in the unforgiving Glasgow climes.
In late 2012, Amanda James discovered that the business was for sale. Up until now, Amanda’s career had been led entirely in the corporate world, but as a long-time customer, she could see the potential of TriBeCa. In May 2013, Amanda officially became TriBeCa’s new owner.
New to the industry, and a new mum to boot, Amanda knew her first step was building a solid team, and quickly began recruiting people who shared her passion for good food, and could bring valuable experience to the venture.

In late 2012, Amanda James discovered that TriBeCa was for sale.
The first such appointment came in the form of Emma Orr, a friend of Amanda’s with many years experience in the hospitality world. Emma’s impressive CV spans 3 continents, but it’s her commitment to customer care that proved to be the biggest distinguishing factor. Excited to be involved in the early stages of the ‘new’ TriBeCa, Emma left her role as Director of Sales for MacDonald Crutherland House Hotel to join TriBeCa as General Manager.
