So much fun for a sort of low key family and friend shin dig. The staff were great and made evrything run really smoothly. I was here for a friends engagement, where everyone was merry and the drinks were flowing. Not a drinker myself I got the apparent amusement of watching the party goers old, very old, young and very young dance and sing the night away. We all had a great time. The suite itself was a good size for our party, of what was around 70 people. So not to big, but just as well because the buffet wouldn’t have went much further. With all the classic buffet foods, just like Peter Kay says. Whats great about these sorts of things is just that every one ends up just so friendly, celebrations are so much more fun than a normal night out because everyone is in great spirits.

The Ruag is the sister to the Rhoderick Dhu which is just upstairs from it. If this function suite is anything as good as its big brother then I can imagine that being a customer here would be highly enjoyable. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough friends to have a big party. I went along to my sisters friends engagement party instead. It was fantastic. A proper big family get together type laugh. The Dj wasn’t playing anything cool or hip, like a cool and hip guy like me would like, but who would want that at a party like this? He kepy mums, uncles and even had the dads up dancing. It was all good fun. Price-wise, I can only go by what is on their site. they do packages with a range of different buffets on offer for all pockets. Put a party on in here and please… invite me!

This place was made for family parties, with its big wooden dance floor, cosy cushioned booths and cheap drinks all round. Funnily enough, I had tagged along to the very same party with Mr M. below, as a group of us sheepishly walked in, unsure if we were welcome due to our friend of a friend of a friend relationship with the soon to be bride and groom. However we needn’t have worried, everyone was in such good spirits, probably as a result of having downed plenty of them. When we went to the bar, feeling rather cheeky, we ordered a shot. I was amazed when my £1.50 bought me: not just any shot, but a small glass with several unmeasured glugs that were more than a mouthful. Amazing! The cheesy DJ added to this place’s old fashioned family charm, with everyone up on the dancefloor by the end of the night, ourselves included. You can’t help but fall in love with this place, for its old fashioned family hospitality and not so measured drinks that make your money go further, and your dance moves all the more ridiculous.
