I’ve used Scotch Whisky Auctions to sell a fair few bottles in the last year. They were the first dedicated whisky auctioneer in the UK. Having previously been a retailer, they started a side line auctioning and splitting the usual 20% fee to be 10% on each the buyer and the seller.
There is one auction a month which is online at
ending on the first Sunday of the month at 6pm, having started a week earlier. ‘Sniping’ is impossible as a last minute bid extends the auction by 5 minutes.
Its a popular place now with around 1,500 lots in each auction with bottles from £15 to £3,000. For me they have been very professional and efficient.
