A typical RS McColl situated in a prime location on Drymen Road in Bearsden.
It’s the sort of place in which a can of Irn Bru costs 92p. Just to clarify, this means if you hand over one pound, you will be given eight pence back. This is why I cannot stand RS McColls, and why I only visit if there really is no alternative.

This is quite a good branch of the chain by the same name. Has all the usual type of newsagent stuff: papers, cards, magazines, loads of sweets crisps and juice. Actually one of the main plus points of this shop is that it sells boosts: there doesn’t seem to be any elsewhere in Bearsden, unless you want a multi pack from Asda (bulemia inducing!) The shop does a roaring trade at lunch time when all the local kids stream out of the local secondary, and I would definitely avoid it at this time, especially if you have a buggy, but the rest of the time it’s fine. The staff are a bit abrupt, but then if I had to serve a thousand horrid teenagers in an hour, then so would I be.
