Priceless Computing

Had been told by two or three other places my laptop couldn't be fixed but thought i'd give it another try and took it in to Priceless to see what could be done and got it sorted in a couple of hours...Brilliant service and great can do attitude!

Have used the shop on comnerce street for many years… the shop on
are hopeless
If you need odds and ends in a hurry then there ideal
But they do have a very limited range (laptop hard drives as an example)
Many years in the past lol mid 90s pricless actual. prices were very competitive but sadly these days have fell far from grace with cheaper & better choice online
Would never buy a system from them
As wouldnt trust anyone to build anything for me lol
But they do sell bundle deals wich if your on a budget are great asabasis to start

Would I buy a computer from these guys. Probably not. The component shops that litter Argyle street all seem to have the same reputation. I think Priceless was first but that is not necessarily a great distinction to have.
I have bought some components from them and experienced the wide spread rumour that they re-​badge kit and sell it at a higher spec. I am not going to go into it but I tend to avoid buying anything there that has a chip in it.
So, now we get to it. Why I have given these guys four stars? Media.
It is all about Media. High volumes, cheap prices on blank DVD’s and CDs
I am not sure if these folks are the suppliers to the guys selling movies in the Barras but I do notice that the prices go up after a police raid. All of that means that they have best prices on optical media.
They will sell you a spindle of DVDs for pence a disk rather than pounds. White tops, silver tops — whatever you need. I have not found anyone cheaper.

Priceless Computing have saved my old PC and laptop more times than I can remember now.
When my PC used to get struck with viruses and I thought the end was nigh, the tech guys in Priceles always knew how to bring it back from the dead. When its 19 GB was under strain (it was my first computer, after all), I spent thirty quid on a new harddrive from those guys and they installed it for free. Even when my current laptop lost all its memory, the guys tried as hard as they could to revive it (it’s something that has to be done in a sterile lab however, so data recory experts are going to have to be the ones to unlock that hard drive).
I guess I put my equipment through the school of hard knocks while I was at umiversity, and the work done to it in Priceless has saved my data and keyboards on numberous occasions. Repairs usually cost under £50 and they can order in supplies for you if need be.
The guys are really friendly and will be upfront if they can’t help you with your troubleshooting.
If you’re not a clumsy ass like me and are looking for supplies rather than fixer upper’s, they have a lot of cables, memory sticks and external hard drives with massive amounts of memory. Seriously, it blows my mind that you can buy ones now with almost 1000 GB.
Competing well with the other Pc repair shops in the area and being able to do what PC World have failed to do on many, many occasions, I will always visit Priceless first before considering going elsewhere.

I remember a time when Priceless was undoubtedly cheaper than its big name rivals but over the years it seems to have struggled to keep its prices as low as its neighbouring rivals.
This shop is fantastic for parts. Thumb drives, RAM, CD and hard drives but I would probably think twice about buying any larger or more expensive items with them.
If you’re a tech-​head and have a good understanding as to what you’re looking for then Priceless is an excellent shop but unfortunately I’ve encountered too many staff that give me terrible recommendations.
There are bargains to pick up but I’d advise that you did your research both off and online before handing over your money.

I must agree with the previous reviewer on this one, as on a recent vivit to Priceless, they told me what could best be described as a crock of old shite.
When I tried to buy a wireless router they informed me that only certain brands of router work with certain internet providers, and that I had to check with my ISP to find out what type to buy. I thanked them for their help and left.
Ten minutes later, whilst trying to explain this to a baffled member of PC World staff, it became apparent that the staff at Priceless won’t be giving BIll Gates sleepless nights anytime soon, as their claim was utter nonsense. I duly left PC World £55 lighter and carrying a depressingly boring piece of consumer electronics.
The saddest thing about it all is that the guy at Priceless obviously wasn’t trying to lie to me to get a sale, he was just totally clueless. I hope it was just an off day, because with a PC World across the road, a shop like this should really be doing more to keep themselves in contention.

Situated in a stretch of Argyle Steet which has, somewhat bizarrely, become a hub of cheap, ramshackle computer and laptop repair shops, Priceless Computing’s place as the king of the crop is, I guess, cemented by its longevity.
While so many others have gone up to that big computer scrapheap in the sky, Priceless has kept going, valiantly battling against its bigger, flashier step-​brother, PC World, which lurks opposite. For that reason alone, I really want to like this place and generally it has developed a good name in the city. However, my most recent visit was ominous, going a little something like this:
Me: «My computer has an unmountable boot volume error, can this be fixed?
Priceless: «No, you will need to buy a new hard drive.»
Me: «There’s no way it can be fixed?»
Priceless: «No.»
Me: «Absolutely no way?»
Priceless: «Sir, there is absolutely no way it can be fixed.»
Me: «OK, I’ll have a look at it myself.»
Priceless: «You are wasting your time, it cannot be fixed.»
Two days later; fixed. By me and my friend. Cynically speaking, a money making scan, if I’m being more positive, an honest mistake.
Their reputation means I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. This time.
