Philip Lang

I have used Philip Lang Cycles many times over the years both for buying bikes for myself and my husband, and for servicing.
The prices are near wholesale, but this doesn’t mean that there is a compromise on quality. Indeed, a bike my husband was looking at was nearly £100 cheaper at Philip Lang than Dales! Same Bike!
The staff are friendly, reliable and informed. If there is anything you need to know about bikes, ask the staff at Philip Lang!
I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are looking to buy a bike, or a service/​repair for your existing look no further!

Good old fashioned bike shop. Repaired my bike in no time & charged next to nothing for doing it!!! Great advice from staff with years of experience.

I’ve used them frequently over the years for repairs and accessories and have always found their manner unfailingly friendly, the job’s been well done and the price has been excellent. Compared with other stores which have ridiculously over-​priced charges, long waiting periods and often incompetent mechanics, I ‘ve always found Philip Lang’s in a different league. I’m not doubting the experience of the earlier reviewer but maybe he was just unlucky. I’d hate others to avoid them becuase of this as they would miss out big time!

Unfortunately I’ve got to say I was disappointed here, I took my bike down for a service, but when cycling back I found the back brakes were sticking and squealing badly, which they didn’t do before. So I had to take it back again to be fixed, which it was (after a few false starts), but that was a hassle in the wind and rain. Also I realised afterwards that they didn’t degrease or oil the chain which I would have expected, and they didn’t tighten the nuts which hold my pannier rack in place properly when they put it back on after removing it to fix the rear mudguard. I’ve had to do these jobs myself: fingers crossed theres nothing more serious that they’ve missed. Maybe I just got unlucky but I don’t feel I could recommend it.
