On of the better Nandos, they can be understaffed and busy however over the many visits their standards of food quality and service rarely dip

Who doesn’t enjoy a «cheeky Nando’s» every now and then. I mean, who doesn’t? The Nando’s I would usually go to is the newest addition the Glasgow family: the restaurant on Sauchiehall Street, corner Douglas Street. I love lots of things about it — the décor, the music, which can sometimes be a little overpowering, the smell and the set up(even though the tables can be quite close to each other). Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with this particular family member. Although very extensive and providing lots of seating, it’s a little uninviting. We walked in, and were practically standing the queue to order our food. We were taken to our seats, but Julia and I pretty much knew what we wanted. We both went for a grilled chicken pitta(medium spice for me, with cheese and fries on the side. Julia had a side salad with avocado and halloumi, garlic bread and lemon herb sauce on her chicken), and two bottomless soft drinks. We grabbed our sauces, hot sauce, balsamic vinegar and some extra lemon and herb. I love the sink that Nando’s has to wash your hands. I love being able to wash my hands in the restaurant before I eat. The sink worked, the ice machine was in working order and the drinks were well dispensed too. Now, our table was close enough to the window that we had a nice of view of the Clyde. Unfortunately it also meant that the tables were very close together and honestly, I am not keen on other peoples’ backsides or thighs rubbing against my arm when they squeeze past the table(they could have really walked around the other side of the table, but no). As mentioned previously, I really enjoy the music at Nando’s(the last time I heard a song that the last time I had heard it was at a wedding in Botswana), but I couldn’t even hear it this time. We waited for quite a while for our food to get to us, but it was fresh, the fries were warm and you can never go wrong with a pitta — although this time there were little big chucks of cilantro(don’t put coriander in my food, seriously.) and I am sure that the chicken was not medium spice either — usually it’s a pleasant warmth but not too ridiculous(hence why I bring the hot sauce to the table for extra spice), but this chicken was a little flavourless unfortunately. I ate it anyways. So all in all, Nandos is always good, but this is not my favourite location to go to. One positive is the size of the place, so there won’t be much waiting around for a table to open up, which can happen at the other restaurants.

It’s Nandos. What can I say? Sticky tables, but curiously delicious grilled chicken burgers and fries with spicy salt. I like the place a lot. Especially this branch with its proximity to the Odeon cinema. Drink all you like soda fountain too. The one major downside is a pretty uninspiring choice of desserts. There is no chocolate dessert, just a fancy crème brûlée. In short, it’s a win.

Visited here as a party of 4 at 6pm prior to a gig at SSE Hydro. The service was friendly & the layout of the restaurant with the circular booths made it feel comfortable & there was a good buzz about the place! As Nando’s regulars, we know the set up for ordering food & this was made easier with fast service at the tills and a bit of banter! Food arrived surprisingly quickly and I must recommend the Caesar Salad with added chicken(spiced as you want it!) which was absolutely delicious, plenty of dressing & chunky croutons! All of us commented on the quality of the food, the fact the chips were actually crispy on the outside & there were clean plates all round. A nice touch from the Manager coming round each table to check that everything was to our satisfaction and rather than wait in the queue again if we needed anything, just to give him a shout! We didnt have the time or room for desert or coffee but compared to other Nando’s we’ve been to, this one was like a breath of fresh air & we’ll definitely be back.

I been there a couple of times. If you love chicken and sauces then this is right place for you. Make sure you have advanced booking as i wait 40 minutes to get a table and then 30 minutes for order. Food is very standard taste and value every time you there.

I’ve been here quite a few times and its great, I love trying all the different sauces but one thing is that if you go too often you start to get bored of the food otherwise going now and again is good and its a great place to take friends and family to.

Love my nando’s ha ha. I am not normally a fan of these big chain places, but this place and the chicken is just too good and with the sauce its amazing!!! It is nice a clean inside and fairly stylish for a chain. but nice enough surrounding and the prices are fair enough. Oh and as many free refills as you like! :-) of the non-alcoholic variety SHAME. ;-(lol all in all a big 4 stars from me. Believe me seeing as its a big chain it’s a high mark from me. Enjoy!

I knows it’s Burns day tonight but our tummys at work were rumbling for some Nando’s chicken. So the haggis, neeps and tatties were aff the menu today for me. I have mixed feelings over this Nando’s. I remember when it arrived years ago and was the first Nandos in Glasgow. I had been first introduced to Nando’s years before when I was down in London and we were told we just had to try and I really enjoyed it. I used to go here quite a lot with my former work friends for a girly night after work. As we usually went in the evening we always found we were in the minority of caucasian folks and I always wondered why. We found out that this Nando’s caters for Muslims so therefore the meat is Halal. Ahhh, all explained! It was always very very busy too but we could always get a seat no problem. As of late I have been going with work folks for lunch, with a less busy, noisy atmosphere. If you haven’t been before, you are seated with a menu, check the number of your table and then head up the tills, a bit like a posh McDonalds. Give them your number then order what dish you would like. The restaurant is chicken based but does have beef and veggie dishes on there too. I tend to order a single ckicken breast fillet either in a pitta or wrap with extra cheese and pineapple. I unfortunately cannae handle the heat of the spice so tend to stay with the lemon and herb or mango and lime. You can also have 1 or 2 sides like chips, coleslaw, spicy rice or corn on the cob etc. I do also love to get a cheeky wee order of grilled halloumi cheese. Yuuuuuuum! I have found that they don’t always have it when I go in, so I get very excited if they have it, as it’s super delicious. Since I have been going back to this branch I have always found something wrong, maybe I’m nitpicking but there’s never any forks and you have to wait to get some, staff are a bit slow, in the sense we had to wait a while to get a seat on my last visit, there was loads of staff behind the counter but none of the shop floor. I think they do quite a lot of take away orders at lunch time. Not sure how it works but they were getting a few phone calls while I was up ordering my meal. Och, also the ice machine was broken. Meh! I do like the ickle crushed up ice. Apart from the niggles I do like Nando’s. I also have a Nando’s Card which is only available in Scotland. You collect your chillies online, through your registered card and then you can get free food. It’s a bit better than the loyalty stamp card they used to have as you could only redeem for a ½ or full chicken, now you can redeem for appeteasers, wraps, pittas and burgers and also the ½ and full chicken. It’s the same Nando’s décor but I do like it. If you’ve not been I would advise you go and try. It’s much much better than a KFC and not too expensive. Can’t wait to start redeeming my chillies to get my free food.

CHICKEN! Oh haven of chickeny goodness, I can’t believe I have not reviewed you before. I’ve always said that I’d happily be a vegetarian if only I wouldn’t miss chicken so much. Nandos helps feed the belief that I can’t live without chicken! This is the first Nandos I was aware of in Glasgow, having had my first sample of Nandos in Leicester a few years before this one opened. Usually I’m not a big fan of chain places… they tend to be a wee bit ‘meh’ and bland as hell, but thankfully Nandos is one of the few that buck the trend. The staff in this restaurant are always friendly, and service(with very few pandemonious exceptions) is normally quick. The chicken is cooked perfectly to order, and you can add pineapple and cheese on there, and have it done as mild or spicy as you like. Being a bit of a wimp when it comes to chilli, I usually go for the lemon and herb or the mango with all the extras. Not one for the fizzy stuff, I’m always glad when a place can serve water without charging you — it’s not exactly a rare resource! Nice and chilled out of the ice machine, and with as much as you like. And for the lovers of fizzy juice, you can order a bottomless glass. The desserts are good too, but they are pretty much ALL dairy — a problem for me these days, but sometimes ignored for a guilty pleasure or two. If you’re ever by the Quay, this is a nice wee place to go. And if you have any Muslims in your midst, they are also certified Halal! Drop in the next time you have a craving for finger-licking chicken!

I love nandos! they do peri peri nuts which i adore wish they would sell them in the shops! and needless to say their chicken is delissshhh! But ive only given this nandos a 4star just because the place is always sooo busy, but the staff do their best to turn around the tables! Everytime ive been its been around a 30 min wait but you leave your name and go for a beer or a nice cocktail in the casino nextdoor, go back and the table will be waiting for you problem solved no standing round like all the other customers waiting! one more point is they could provide more sauces, i always have to go and borrow off another table!

I’ve been trying so hard to convince myself that just because the food is delicious, I should overlook the hygiene of this place. The tables are never cleaned, the grills doesn’t seem to be cleaned at any point throughout the day and the water machine tastes like warm toilet warm not that I know what toilet water tastes like. I’ve also seen how the staff clean the cutlery. They dip all the dirty cutlery in the same basin, take out, then wipe. Most restaurants may do the same however, cleaning this infront of customers just makes them lose their appetites. In addition the girls toilets are just never clean. Sorry, wish I could have given it a better review!

I visited this famous restaurant 3 weeks ago with family even though i have been to many different Nandos. the décor is same in every branch. When i walked in i was asked to take a seat as the place was not busy at the time of day. I went and ordered the food. The food was NOT on time it took 1hr 10mins come. I have to say Nandos do great food but the main problem for me was that this restaurant was not hygenic, the plates and cutlery was not clean at all. I went to get new forks and knifes but they were all the same with dirty water marks on them. Even though the food was good the cleanliness is not great. So for that reason i have to give THIS Nanado’s 5 out of 10.

Om nom nom nom. For a restaurant chain, Nando’s is good! It was by chance that we came to Nando’s for dinner, because another restaurant next door was being evacuated due to a fire alarm. But I am glad we found ourselves in Nando’s instead. Upon entering Nando’s, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated by the large windows overlooking the Clyde. It was a beautiful day, so it was nice to enjoy the view while eating dinner. The décor is modern/contemporary with rustic charm. The boyfriend has been to other Nando’s locations, and said that it’s standard décor and ambiance in the restaurants he’s been to. Either way, I still enjoy it. However, I do not enjoy hordes of screaming children running around and towards the fro-yo machine(birth control? check!). Once you’re seated, you decide what you want to order, take note of your table number, and go to the counter to order and pay for your food. The service is efficient and friendly. Drinks and condiments are self-service. They also provide a wash basin with soap and paper towels close by(without having to go to the toilet) to wash your messy fingers after eating. The sweet and low down: The flavors and heat make for a tasty and fresh combination. We ordered a wings platter for 2, and it was more than enough food. It was good value for money. I’ll definitely be back for more!

My love of spicy food in filling portions is going to make me look like a greedy man. But I was delighted hen Nando’s turned up in Glasgow, and rushed along to stuff my fat face. What I like about Nando’s is that the taste is still a bit off the beaten track: I don’t like the corporate feel of the restaurant, as this one has the same atmosphere as the one in Exeter, or anywhere else. It manages to feel like a cheap place, that serves slightly more interesting food, but isn’t really a bargain. It’s a safe choice, though, probably because of the chain’s need to keep its identity consistent.

A couple of years ago me and my pals used to make trips to a Nando’s outlet in the sticks. At the time the chain was a fairly well kept secret in Scotland, so we felt an immense level of self satisfaction as we picked at the bones. Having exploded in number since then, Nando’s is now popular and seems to be a current«in» thing to the extent that tedious people are leaving comments such as «NANDO’S! YUUUUMMMEEE!» on networking sites, between the comments about how much they love their iPhone and/or X Factor. Anyway, despite now being ubiqutous, Nando’s is still fantastic, even if it does sometimes feel like a fast food joint with restaurant prices. It feels a bit scabby to go up to the counter to pay rather than have table service, but when you see your chicken carcass blackening away in the open plan kitchen, before arriving drenched in the hottest sauce they’ve got, you won’t care. It’s phenomenal, and a side of paprika fries won’t do any harm either. Not a venue for a romantic date, but as a place to gorge it’s unbeatable.

Idea Family Restaurant and the food is delicious especially if you like spice! DONOTGOIFYOUDONNOTLIKECHICKEN. you have been warned! Food is really good and healthy and kids meals are almost as big as the adults. Combined with frozen yoghurt and bottomless drinks kids go home happy — no need for ids packs here!

This is a really nice place to go eat, either with friends and/or with the family. The staff have always been friendly, and helpful. The only thing that annoys me is having to order say a chicken burger, and then on top ordering your fries, or whatever. It’s not THAT pricey, but remember to order side or you’ll be hungry and it does make the food look cheapish until you start adding it all together! BUT aside from that, nice place. They have a seating area to wait of there are no table, better than loitering and waiting around. They also do take out, i have yet to try it but quite fancy it! x
