Lidl

This is a fabulous good value little supermarket, part of the Lidl chain which is so cheap on most things that your socks will be knocked off! They do all the usual supermarket stuff, except mostly their own brand goods, which is why it’s so cheap. They are great for things like biscuits and confectionary and tinned goods, but the alcohol section is also great value (and quality) and the fruit and meat are surprisingly good too. They have recently started doing more papers and magazines and a better range of toiletries and cosmetics, so you could conceivably do your whole shop here, if you didn’t mind foregoing top brands for own label products. The best thing about this shop though, is the great value nappies, and in this branch the friendly helpful staff. Be warned though, you need to bring your own bags or purchase a plastic one, so actually they are doing their bit for the environment too, as well as our pockets!
