Kate’s Sandwich Bar

Kate’s is a reliable lunch pit-​stop for rolls, wraps, soup and snacks. A simple yet effective wee shop, it consists of a counter, till, fridge and space for queueing, which is all you need really!
The staff are chatty and cheerful and I particularly like that the lady at the counter always remembers my order of a salad roll without butter and a lovely lentil soup. My usual order costs £2.40, which is an absolute bargain, particularly in this pricey part of the city.
As you would expect of such a cheap and cheerful place, it’s often packed with local school kids, so it may be worth trying to avoid visiting during school lunch time, whenever that is these days.
Enjoyed by workies, schoolies, yuppies, young and old, Kate’s is worth a wee visit for a breakfast bap or lunch munch.
