In my excitement, I failed to notice that Andrew M had outlined in his review that this pop-up Harvey Nicks is actually only a food outlet, which disappointed me a little. However, when I started scouring the shelves for present ideas, I found loads of delicious treats and novelties that I would be happy to give to my loved ones this festive season! The shop is small, and unfortunately only temporary, which is a shame as a little bit of Harvey Nichols class wouldn’t go amiss in St Enochs, which is slowly becoming a worthy competitor to the Big Daddy that is Buchanan Galleries. Everything is packed onto three walls of shelving and a middle gondola of hampers, which range from pricey but nice to eye-wateringly expensive and somewhat unjustifiable. I loved the little clinical looking bottles of vodka with edible scorpions floating in the bottom, ideal for your Brother or Dad! The elegant bottle of Pinky vodka caught my eye, as did an unusual Marmalade Chase vodka, at just under £40 a bottle. Any of these would be ideal for a Christmas present, you could find a bottle of booze to suit any member of your family! The foodstuffs were wonderful too, decadent and over indulgent sweets, sugar treats and even jewellery made from chocolate and silver leaf, these stocking sized gifts were incredibly hard to resist, I could have spent a small fortune. I was tempted to buy some novelty bottles of extra hot sauce, but at £20 plus, they would be an expensive joke! I love Harvey Nichols, and this wee place will satisfy my cravings in-between visits to the massive Edinburgh store.
