I go through these gates everytime I go into the gym. I didn’t know anything about them until one day when I was checking in to the gym, I saw someone had added them. It was interesting to find out the building used to be the old fire engine. I like the gates and think it’s a fitting tribute to the fire service that used to serve their.

As part of the redevelopment of the Burgh Halls in Maryhill, Glasgow, these wonderful gates stand in the archways of the former fire station. They were designed by the amazing, and prolific, artist and sculptor Andy Scott and show firemen in their traditional uniforms. I have now visited a few of Andy Scott’s beautiful works including his Beacon of Hope statue in Belfast(see my review), Ginger(a beautiful horse) in Greenock, and several others. I hope to add to this list in time as I’m becoming quite a fan!
